FYI...Replying to old posts....one recommendation

Sancho2 and I log in daily, a few times per day and review posts, and approve them to the board.  The majority we approve but we do get some posts that you have to question who wrote them and what is the real message.

One suggestion regarding replying to a post that is old.  When I say old, I would possibly consider my recommendation for any post that is over a month old.  

With all due respect, this is not to point out any members but it is a good example.....

I just approved a reply to a post that was from March of 2010.  My feeling is, if you want to reply to an old post, copy the link and include that link in your "NEW" post so everyone can read it and understand.  The chances of anyone going back to March of 2010 are very limited.

Now some boards move the old post to the top of the board when a new comment is made.  TER's new features offered that for a brief period of time but members were making worthless replies to their post to make this happen. In the end, it was decided that the feature, while being a nice feature, is also abused and the value of having new posts rise to the top vs. not was of little value due to this problem.

So, my feeling is just do what I recommended and you will be doing whats best, based on the tools and posting capabilities we have right now with TER.

It's been said before but probably nowhere near enough.  Maybe you (as the main Mod these days) can figure out some way to encourage this:  

How about when posting, putting the city or location in the subject heading?  

We see endless posts that have subject lines like:  "Anyone have any info on this hottie"
Or:  "Is this one TGTBT?"

How about instead saying:  "Anyone have any info on this Dallas hottie"
Or:  "Is this one in Seattle TGTBT?"

I agree to some extent but for one, the field would need to be required or no one would select the city.  The only other issue I see is so many TS girls travel so if you add a field for the city, I'd say about half the time it may not be valid in a few days because they have moved onto a new city.  I've asked for better search methods on our board and I have gotten nowhere unfortunately.
