TS Star,

Not tonight, but I am going to do my best to make it next Friday night (the 7th), which I have off. I'll know by Thursday if I'm actually going. Will you be there next Friday night, and if so, how will I know you ? You'll know me. My wardrobe lies somewhere between that of Norm Abrams and Cal Worthington.;)

I really hope we can meet, TS ? :)

... Someone in the HungAngels forum posted something recently about how most men who attend these clubs come by themselves. I guess a man CAN be an island. That doesn't sound very social.

... I'm still wondering about the parking.

Wow!  Had a lot of fun last night.  Met some nice people and saw all my girlfriends.  The place was pretty crowded and the weather was nice.  It was a good show last night too, the girls up there did great. Viva has some hot girls up there and they had awesome costumes too.

I was having fun dancing and being the social butterfly that I  am!  lol

The club had a good energy to it.  Everyone seemed in a good mood.

Peace & love

What do you mean?  You mean guys should take their dates WITH them to the club - when they are going there trying to pick up girls???  You lost me on this one.

***"I'm still wondering about the parking."***

LOL, you can't be serious!!!

Peace & love

When I search the reviews for TS Star, I don't find any.

Do you have a personal web page?

((( What do you mean? You mean guys should take their dates WITH them to the club, when they are going there trying to pick up girls ??? You lost me on this one.)))

TS -- I'm sorry. I should have been a little more clearer on what I meant. It's Vicki Rictner's post -- the 13th one of Allanah Starr's "Wild West" thread -- where she comments on how men in TS clubs behave differently than they do in other "real world" club settings. I believe HER observations lead her to conclude that men somehow don't congregate or bond as they do at other (straight?) clubs.
So would you say that MOST guys are there to pick up girls ? I'm not going with that frame of mind should I actually make it next Friday. I want to see and get up close to the girls as well as witness the shows you've mentioned. If something should click between a girl and I, hey, more power to me if it leads to a blissful experience, but I'm not attending the place counting on it.

...I posted in that thread also. Care to guess my sobriquet ? It should be easy to figure out. My e-mail link is there in case anyone in here cares to e-mail me also. :)

So, TS Star, will I see you there next Friday should I make it ? Oh, question: Are there any good motels in that area (What area is this club in again ?)

I hope the thing linked ???

Let's face it.  A lot of the guys that go to TS clubs have a lot of hang ups.  "Am I gay?"  "Am I straight?"  "Will I get laid?"  "Will anyone from work see me here?"  "Will my friends find out I go to this club?"  "Where do I park?"  They carry a lot of guilt and confusion about liking T girls.  They feel isolated, scared and  alone, so that's how they behave.  They don't talk to anyone, they don't dance, they don't smile, they lurk in the shadows (literally!) and feel guilty and confused.  Some are actually socially retarded and have no idea how to interact with another human being.  At closing, they either make a quick business hook up with a girl and scurry out before anyone might see them, or leave and go home just like they came there... scared, isolated and alone.

On the other hand, a small minority of guys have dealt with their feelings and gave themselves permission to feel OK about it.  These are guys that show up regularly to hang out together, laugh, check out the girls, go up and tip the girls, talk to eachother and talk with the girls.  They are not afraid of being seen by anybody, they have no hang ups about liking T girls, they go to the Yuk afterwards and have fun with everybody else.

I do admit, Peanuts does have a bit of a "meat market" vibe to it, but for the most part we get used to it and just go on about our night doing what we want to do.  At other clubs I go to (gay or straight) there is much more of a feel that everyone is there just to have a good time.  Not the meat market pressure Peanuts has.

However, the choice is still 100% yours.  You can go there, make friends, smile and have a good time, or you can be scared, miserable, guilty and alone.  No one but YOU can decide how you are going to feel.

So it is a meat market, huh ?

I wrote ALL that stuff, put a lot of thought into it, and that's the only comment you have???

Why do I bother?    :(

TS Star,

Your post wasn't exactly soliciting commentary. It struck me as an "FYI" and seems to embellish what was in that other forum. What could I say ? It was very well written, informative, and well, very enlightening. Your post seems to corroborate that of the one posted by Vicki in Hung Angels. I couldn't agree or disagree one way or the other with it, could I ?

I haven't been clubbing in quite some time (20 years [?]), so walking into a club -- ANY CLUB -- today takes some acclimation, particularly one such as Peanuts, where a whole new world I'm totally unfamiliar with lies. I just hope I'm not so overwhelmed by the whole experience that I'll stand out like a babe in the woods to everyone there ... My guess is that it's going to be hard acting cool for the first few minutes in there.

One more question: Would you say most of the girls there are working, or simply out to have a good time meeting new people sans any monetary arrangements ?

There... that's better.  lol

As far as being overwhelmed and in a world you are unfamiliar with... just what exactly do you think is going to happen to you there?  What do you think GOES ON there?  I think you are picturing in your head some strange land with strange exotic creatures walking about.  Or you are picturing a full-on orgy. Either way, you would be wrong.

You know, it's JUST a club/bar.  Unless you think you are going to go nuts and start raping people, don't get so worked up about it.  Try going there with NO EXPECTATIONS of any kind, and just check it out.  If you like it, go back.  If you don't, don't ever go again.  Simple as that.  What's the worst that can happen?  You spend maybe $25 and waste one night?

Working girls?  I'll let you go there and decide for yourself.

Just go, have a good time, and check out the scene. It's usually what you make it. Be happy, be friendly, be polite. In SF I go to blues bars, techie bars, strip joints, seafood restaurants, martini bars, and Divas, all in the course of a weekend evening. I see them all as opportunities, and I've met fine people at each stop. If you're into the TS scene, you gotta be there to make something happen. So put you're best foot forward, wade through all the inconveniences,  and participate in a positive way. Good things will happen. I met my current TS girlfriend that way. TS Star, if Peanuts was in my town, I'd be there whenever you gave a shout-out.

((( As far as being overwhelmed and in a world you are unfamiliar with... just what exactly do you think is going to happen to you there? )))

Other than possibly being approached by a girl and not knowing how to gingerly let her down without hurting her feelings ? Nothing.

What I meant by "overwhelmed" was simply having my senses assaulted in ways they haven't been assaulted in years. That is, that unfamiliarity to anything/anyone can sometimes take its toll for a short period. For example, when my friends and I would venture out to a club during the disco era, we knew our "spots" at each club where we would hang out, along with the bartenders, waitresses, bouncers, etc. Granted that that's minor, it nevertheless gave me(us) a sense of security if that makes any sense. I know nothing -- NOTHING -- about Peanuts or partying with TS women, other than what you and an e-mailer is telling me.

((( Working girls?  I'll let you go there and decide for yourself. )))
I've found out. Hmmmmmm.

Thank you once more for all you've provided. I hope I do make it next week, and I hope we can meet if you make it.

And just WHAT is wrong with plaid ??? Hmmmph!;)

The plan right now is to go this coming Friday night, but if it stays this hot, I'll simply reschedule for another Friday when it is a hell of a lot cooler to drive for two hours amongst the smog and heat. Heat isn't cool, unless I'm in the mood to imitate a french frie that is.

I'm actually suppose to go up there to meet a chatroom friend, capping the evening with my visit to Peanuts ... we'll see how it goes.

...All of this uncomfort about driving in the heat can easily be trumped if I knew that the one and only Lilienne Li frequented Peanuts on hot Friday nights. ;)

Sounds as if I'm creating obstacles for myself, doesn't it ?

Actually, my 1964 Studebaker Lark didn't come equipt with,... um ... er ... I mean, the Ferrari service manager says my car won't be out of the shop by Friday, so ...

Yes, of course I have A/C, but I still don't like driving in heat or smog, particularly for a couple of hours. I don't know where you're typing from, but it has, and continues to be, miserably hot in southern California. Besides, with gas prices being what they are, the A/C in my vehicle makes me go through gasoline like Keith Richards goes through Phlegm. :D

Seriously, unless something very important comes up, it looks like I will be heading up there Friday. I have other matters to address up there in Los Angeles anyway.

Peanuts on Friday???????  I've been wanting to go there as well for a long time now and as I've been following this Discussion board for about a week or two now I'm encouraged to do it. I'm excited and had to share it.  I look forward to experiencing the excitement.  Past experience dictates that my back is usually stuck to the wall at clubs, one hand grasping a glass, eyes scanning the room as I shift from one leg to the other in discomfort. But what the heck time to be sociable, buy some new friends a drink and hopefully meet some of you there. Looking forward to Friday! Look for the guy trying to pry his back off the wall.

"Pleased to meet cha, Outlook. I'm Mister Wall! You wanna get out of my way. You're blocking my view." ;)

Unless some kind of devine intervention blocks me from going, look for me there this Friday also, Outlook.
I'm really looking forward to the show, so hopefully I'll be planted somewhere near the stage. I'll be wearing a dressy black jacket for sure (Yeah, right, that'll distingush me from anyone else on a Friday night. After all, black jackets are so rare.), but I have yet to decide which color shirt or type of slacks to wear. I will be wearing a tie for sure also. :)

One more thing: I am NOT dancing -- with anyone! I'm still convalescing from a bad hip/thigh injury. I hope no one asks.

Anyone else ?
