Anyone else experiencing this?  Clicking any city in the UK on Backpage goes to the URL below instead.

Restricted based upon geographic location.  Now other counties appear to be blocked to US based IP addresses.  Search geographic location and you will see several proposed solutions.

Tried several switches in 'Advanced Settings', 'Privacy' to no avail.  Somehow backpage knows I am in US despite attempts to turn off location and cookies, and blocks access to U.K.

If you know the specific steps that actually work, please advise.

google vpn chrome and use the vpn to set yourself as coming from another country. You're being redirected because you are being detected as being from the US.

Does installation of a VPN slow down internet browsing/download speeds?

If I set the VPN to masquerade me as based in the U.K., might websites that companies chose to block U.K. residents from viewing also be blocked from my viewing?

A VPN will probably slow down your browsing speed but usually not enough for you to notice.

Yes, if you look like you are coming from the UK, other sites will block you or alter your experience. For example, pay streaming sites do that for copyright reasons (They did not license a show for the UK.)

I had no problem.  All I did after I opened your link, was to go up to the corner and click on the backpage emblem, then after it switched to the next page, I clicked it again and it brought up the sections for the different parts of the world and the different countries.  A couple months ago in Britain, backpage was working.  Looks like the government decided to block it.  Strange things happen when a country, or it's biggest city is taken over by muslims.  They decided to block the current American President, businessman Don Trump from going there.

Like it's been said, maybe the internet problem has to do with where you're at.  Though I aint seen that on other web sites.  Other then PatriotRiders.org being blocked in Europe and South America.  Which is really strange, when they are one of the best and most helpful organizations to our military vets and law enforcement.  Sorry about getting off subject.  I'm in Argentina.

According to another post here, you may be able to access non-US locations in backpage because your IP address is not a US source, in your case, Argentina.  When you return to the US, check to see if backpage is blocking you from accessing locations which it did allow when you were in South America.

As much as I abhor child abuse, done for religious purposes or money, I don't think removing or restricting access to the 'adult section' ads is going to make a dent in underage sex trafficking... but it feels good to those who think laws can engender morality.

Even if you are in another country, it somehow kicks you back to the US domain.  I've tried in three or four countries, using local wifi, and found it impossible to land on the local Backpage site.  I tried cleaning out all of my browser history, etc. to no avail.  Weird

I'm aware that the site backpage redirects you guys back to us. I just came from Canada and had that problem also. But where there is a will, there is a way! Try www.Mobileposting.com that will do it! Hope all works out!
