Do the effects of Cialis cease or continue after ejaculation? In other words, should I take more after my first round of sex on a particular day.

I sincerely hope you are following the directives of the prescribing physician. Or did you get Cialis through mailorder, without a prescription?

Since none of us on this board, myself included have examined you in the capacity of physicians with responsibility, we cannot tell you what to do. What I can say is that Cialis (depending on the dosage) is to be taken either once a day or every 36 hours, but never more than once a day. Cialis is longer lasting than both Viagra and Levitra, hence the Frenchified nickname "Le Weekend."

In any case, please do not experiment with these drugs, because that's exactly what they are. Sometimes men have died from taking Viagra. I am always an advocate of contacting your physician first, because s/he assumes responsibility for your body when prescribing. And do NOT get meds through the Net without physically seeing a doc.

Cialis, like any ED medication, lasts for a certain amount of time in your bloodstream. It is not a "per pop" medication. No ED drugs are.  How long it stays in your system depends on your body chemistry, the dosage and outside factors like diet.

The fact that you are asking this question here and not in your doctor's office is a bit alarming.  This stuff is not candy and it is not a quick fix for a night of hot sex. It is a medication prescribed to alleviate the symptoms of a condition that may be a part of much larger medical issues.

High blood pressure, heart disease and diabetes are all conditions that can bring on ED.  

I hate to pile on here but yeah you need to talk to your prescribing doctor.

All of the ED medications come in different dosages.  You need to ask your prescribing doctor if you are on the correct dosage for you.

As mentioned above, Cialis is more time related in longevity rather than actual sex acts.  Presumably if you are within the time window you should be able to have sex more than once.

Please remember though that the ED pills you take by mouth all work on the principal that you have to be sexually aroused and otherwise physically ready to go.  If you are spent, you are spent and no amount of ED meds are gonna fix that.  LOL

As much as I respect the moderator of this board and the people who write here (with very few exceptions) I would hate to think that one of my patients was asking a question like the intelligent and pertinent one you posed here rather than to me directly.  These medications are vaso-active.  They have effects on vessels, blood pressure, etc.  They interact with other medications.  They can be dangerous as well as useful.  Cialis particularly is longer lasting than Viagra and Levitra so needs very careful dosing. This is certainly not a put down of you, but these and many other medications have been advertised in a way that tends to dull us to the facts that all medications have problems and dangers and that people who take them need careful evaluation and monitoring.  I know that many of my colleagues in private practice are very rushed now a days, but almost all of them are responsible enough to take the time needed to evaluate you, prescribe responsibly, and answer your questions.

Now you folks listen to the physician here! How many times haven't I said the same things, in slightly different verbiage? Go see the doc, go see the doc!

Good grief. Talk about much ado about nothing! I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I wouldn't even begin to know how to get Cialis or any other controlled substance without a legitimate doctor's prescriction - so yes I HAVE CONSULTED MY PHYSICIAN. NO, I have never taken more than a tablet per day and generally no more often than one half a tablet weekly. My physician and my pharmicist are both great, but not guys who are comfortable discussing anything pertaining to sexual function. This was a straight-forward question about the general way this medication works. I am astounded that so many people jumped to unsbustantiated conclusions.

Geez!

Take your Cialis as prescribed by your doctor.  Only take as prescribed.

Then make love to your woman.
Now leave
Go to a different woman.
You'll be surprised at how well the "Cialis" works!

Great advice channelguy! Tried it today. SO first, secretary second, provider third. About to go home and try for a fourth round with SO. Think it'll have to be Greece this time around.

Also, BTW there are NO generics for viagra/lavetra or cialis!  All 3 are still under patnt.  Any so called generics are made in India or Mexico and could contian anyhing!  Stick wih the expensive real thing!
