I've come across a few comments and questions about hotels and concerns about check-in times.

I've had my fair share of SBs in the 3 years I've been on SA. I have probably averaged 1 new SB/every month this past year and a few long-term arrangements in years past, so good success rate here.  

So whenever I do dates in my city and I'm not looking to do an overnight, I usually go on the hotel tonight app, then see what's in my price range. I then call the hotel and ask them if they can do early check-in (most hotels will let you check in by 11 or 12 if they're not booked out). If they say yes, I then go on the app and book it that way. And then I call the hotel before I head there to confirm. Always works and the deals are good, even for 3-4 star hotels. Beats bringing someone to your house or even going to their place (I feel safer in a controlled environment...you don't know who might come into the house while you're in the act!)

most hotels don't require you to actually check out so I just usually walk out the door and not say a word.

Now, if I'm doing an overnight date, I pick something fancier. I park my car at the office and take uber to the hotel (usually cheaper than hotel parking rates). If I'm trying to be discreet, the hotel restaurant is usually a safe bet (fancy enough to impress the SB but discreet enough 'coz few locals come in especially during the week). Or room service always works, just bring a bottle of wine or champagne (girls always love that...especially if you ask them to get in the tub with you!)

When you call the hotel to ask about early check in, be sure to ask for the front desk, otherwise you'll get the main reservation line.

Often these reservation people have no idea about what rooms are available, and will parrot the company line that c heck-in is a 3.  These people get no extra commission for selling a room, they are just operators.  The person at the front desk, however, could well be on a commission basis, and has room availability at their fingertips, so that is the person you want to talk to.

I have used between9and5.com in the past and really liked their service, but the hotels they offer are nowhere near me and extremely inconvenient (although they are 4 star hotels for a very good price). I will definitely give what you described above a shot. Thanks!

I have seen bookadayroom has rates cheaper than between9and5 but the availability is almost guaranteed on between9and5 so rooms are available on between9and5 even when the hotel is shown sold out on other day hotel sites.

Calling the front desk definitely has perks, I am also considering getting a Hilton Honors credit card if using hotel during the day is going to be my common practice for Sugar Bowl. But then the drams with SBs can be overwhelming sometimes so I am already re-considering my decision to have sugar babes vs seeing good providers. Like many of you suggested, SA is more suitable for unattached guys.

And thanks for mentioning the "check out" procedure. That's what I always do, leave the key on the table in plain sight and just walk out whenever I am ready to leave.

Anyone finding day rates in souther Florida?   I'm in Boca Raton....using these sites I am unable to find anything.
