Harmless? Have you seen all the guys on here who say they are in love with their providers? There are tons of guys who have been hit up for "loans" on the basis of falling for the act.
I don't blame the girls for putting on a show, because it IS a show, but personally, I'm very embarassed when I read the "If she didn't have a big O, she's a great actress!" lines. I'd hate to think the girls see me as one of the guys who would believe the act.
I am always amused by the high percentage of reviews where client claim he brought the escort to orgasim (often multiple times). Maybe I'm just cynical, but if you figure the provider is the cool professional and the client is dealing in a world of fantasy, it's not lik;ey he is going to be the chieg purveyor of pleasure. I;m not saying it does not happen from time to time, but in my experience I would estimate in less than 10% of the appointments the lady gets off for real.
I also understand that it's not only good for the ego of the reviewer, but, great advertising for the provider.
Should I ask for some video of the techniques of these prices of pleasure or just learn to suspend my view of reality more?
I've made this comment in other postings. I frankly don't think it happens near as often as our hopeful fellow hobbyists.
In my other civi experiences - including two marriages - I found that my partner didn't always cum in the same manner - actions or words. Yet I find when I read a review of a provider and then go see her, often her "cumming" is exactly as I read. What a TURNOFF!!
I know I'm not "orgasm giver-king" - wish I was. But with a couple ladies it was if Cassanova had possessed my body. Sadly, I don't think so.
Hell, I'm not even sure I eat pussy that good - 'cause I'm pretty sure my inept screwing ain't doing it!
Wait..maybe it's my intensely good looks and muscular build!?
Wait...maybe it's my wallet!
(sorry ladies)
Dude, you gotta be kidding! If you know what you're doing with a woman, you can almost always get her to O. Find the clit and the G spot and treat her right. Helps if you like what you're doing. And you know it's for real when the lady is making what are obviously involuntary reactions to your fine work. Maybe you should google "G spot".
The situation you describe sounds like both hobbyist and provider are happy with what they've gotten; whether the lady's O is "real" or not doesn't seem to matter to them -- at least in the reviews -- so why does it matter to you?
If you feel that all of these accounts of provider orgasm are phoney -- fine -- now you're forewarned. For myself, I only know about the experiences I've had; as for other peoples' reviews, since I wasn't there, I can't second guess them. Perhaps you know something about them that I don't.
People content themselves with harmless "delusions" all the time. When was the last time you were in a restaurant having a really awful meal, yet told the server, when he or she asked, that "everything is fine" ?
Lighten up, my friend. Life is short.

Bob -
Before the Internet, when seeing a provider was a totally hit-or-miss proposition, the prevailing experience with a provider was pretty mechanical. Plus, no kissing.
The Internet has created a very well informed market -- ladies who do not deliver what the market demands will not be patronized. If guys wanted the ladies to mechanically get them off, without the reality or appearance of excitement or emotion, then I'm confident that the market would move in that direction.
LG is correct that some providers experience orgasm, some don't. There is no doubt in my mind that many, if not most, of the providers who appear on these boards enjoy the company of most of their clients. And many experience genuine sexual gratification -- whether it's the big O or not -- with their clients.
Falling in love with a provider is a separate issue. The rules of this game are simple: it's companionship for money. If the hobbiest and provider go off the clock, then they're somewhere between the clarity of the rules in the hobby and the vagaries of civilian relationships. Anyone who takes that step takes the same, or greater, risk that he takes in civilian life -- to the extent that there is harm, it's self-inflicted.
In any event, two succinct points: 1. To the extent that there are providers who lure men into being "in love" with them, they are in the small minority. 2. Any guy who falls in love because of a provider's O, real or faked, as opposed to because of the real person, deserves what he gets.
I'm not sure how psychosexual this question is, Nuvela Man,
but given the benefit of the doubt....performance and phantasy is in the brain of the beholder. My question to you is this one: when you read reviews of a film [often done by film critics with some type of cinematic education], how often do you disregard the reviews and watch the film anyway?
If you want 100% verifiable veracity, I suggest you get out of the paid sex game and start meeting with civvies. There, you'll get the good, the bad and sometimes even the ugly, completely unvarnished. You do need to understand that providers are PERFORMERS, for the benefit of their audience. This doesn't mean that they never, ever have orgasms with their clients - I would venture to say that many of them do, since you need to be somewhat sexual to handle the pressures of the daily duties in the sex industry. But to ask for videos...hmmm...that would be like me going to, say, Le Bernardin in New York, and asking Eric Ripert to send me a video of him making an intricate seafood dish, in advance, rather than just me going there and assuming it's going to be a good meal based on the subjective opinions of many diners. And that's bearing in mind that not everyone is enamored of classic French seafood cuisine!
Now, as related to your headline "delusional machoism or creative writing;" how about "impressionable performance" and "writing under the influence?" Otherwise, it would be like the actor insulting his/her audience...and who wants that? Don't we all want to leave the theatre with the impression of a fabulous performance in mind?
It's either Placido Domingo on Memorex in your living room or schlepping to the Metropolitan Opera and potentially getting an obscured seat on third level balcony,
