Yesterday I got a message from a sweet, 25 year old brunette in my area. She made some nice comments about my profile, and suggested we should connect. All sounded good. Her pics show as non-professional but good quality in a different everyday places and her message was well written, articulate, and free of acronyms and slang. I quickly reversed image searched her pics and got a match for a local woman who matched location, age and height - so little chance of a catfish. I was intrigued.
and it's one of the reasons I rarely delete any SB's or even POT SB's from my contacts. I want to remember the good ones and be alerted to the BSC ones.
I don't think I've ever had quite the experience you describe. I've had former SBs I was active with return sometimes years later who wanted to reconnect with me. And I've often seen "new" profiles of SBs I've recognized and previously conversed with, again, sometimes years later, who remembered our previous conversation and were happy to pick up the thread again. But I can't recall being approached by one who forgot that she had talked to me previously. I look forward to hearing how this one plays out!
A few weeks ago messaged an attractive SB. We hit it off on the platform, moved to text and set up a M&G. She strongly intimated that we should allow ample time following lunch to hang out if things went well.
So we meet for lunch last Friday afternoon. Ten minutes into the conversation, I realize that I think we've met before. When I asked, she had a hearty laugh and told me all about our previous M&G 2 years ago and recalled many details about our conversation. She new the entire time. Remembered that I also met another SB at that time and proceeded in an arrangement with her. We enjoyed catching up (she just broke up with her SD of 2 years who wanted to marry her) and then had a wonderful BCD's session.
Yes, she had a new SB name and profile, but the same pictures. I am using a different mode of contact now than previously so could not have matched her phone number. And I am guilty of not remembering her until 10 minutes into lunch conversation.

Thanks for sharing that story. What an interesting place is the Sugar Bowl!
Since I always do a reverse image search on profile pics (Google and Bing), I have also kept all the downloaded pics in an archive, sorted by year, month and Profile name. I also attach one of those pics to her contact in my phone if I get a number or email address. It's been mostly useful to spot cat fishers who create new profiles every few weeks or months. If I see a pic that looks familiar, I can scan my archive to see why. But it's always interesting to get a text and see that prior chat log pop up!
What I take from this is that perhaps SB's get so many POT SD contacts, they simply can't/don't remember all of them. So when they see a profile they like (probably just seeing the annual income and net worth, LOL), they just go for it. I also speculate that the pros and semi-pros do this more, as they are just throwing out a wide net on recent actives in the area to see how many fish they can catch. It's the old school version of cold calling to get new customers. Knock on enough (virtual) doors and eventually some will open.
And you are correct: Always be a gentleman, never burn bridges. The M&G I'm having this afternoon would not be happening if I'd been a dick to her when she stopped communicating. I'll try to figure out if she actually remembers our original discussion from March of 2018. About half of my pics from that time are still on my profile. If it looks like she does not, I'll have to carefully decide if I want to mention it, as well as if I want to mention that I already know her public persona from YouTube, IG and OG.
