If you don't you willregret what might have been. Yes, I have had precisely that great good luck, but based on my experience, be careful. If you really think the messed up finances will improve, and that's important to continuing, you may be in for a hard landing. Because chances are there are more money problems out there you don't know about yet, and she will want help with those. Unless she has a good job with good benefits, she will never catch up, and you will be financing more, not less. Not saying it won't be worth it, because in my case it has been very much so, but it has also been expensive.
