As I mentioned (ok, whined) in a previous post, my batting average in adding new SB's this year is flat at .000, despite getting no less than 3 M&G's scheduled in the 1st 14 days of the year. The 1st M&G happened, but I declined to move forward when I saw she was bigger than life - at least around her waist and hips - and when I saw her order 4 items from the dinner menu! The 2nd and 3rd both cancelled on me after some time.
Fortunately, I still have 3 solid SB's in my A-Level rotation, and another 3 or options on stand-by as needed. But it's generally a good idea to have a few more "on deck" to cover any drop-outs or even replace a current SB with an upgrade.
With the last cancellation, I made an observation that the longer the time from agreeing to a date and time and the actual meeting, the greater the chance she will cancel. Now I tell all my POT's upfront that I have lots of schedule flexibility IF I can schedule a week ahead. I explain that my calendar is usually full for the next 3-4 days at any time. I do this for 2 reasons:
1. It's true. That's just how my life works.
2. It tends to help me weed out the potential scammers who MUST meet tonight. If she can't wait 3 days to meet, that's a yellow and possibly red flag for me.
In my last cancelled M&G, we set out rather well. Messaging was easy and we seemed to click well. Our ideas for a good arrangement aligned and we share common interests. Plus - she is SMOKING HOT! She travels back and forth between LA and another state where her family lives every other week. So we pick a date 2 days after she would return from her next trip. During the interim, we exchanged a few texts and (non-nude) pics and all seemed well. The morning of the day we were scheduled to meet she sent me a text that she had to cancel due to a work issue and would be interested in rescheduling as soon as her issue is resolved. And that's when I realized that M&G's set up over 5+ days away tend to never happen. It seems fairly intuitive when I say it like that.
So I'm considering changing my routine and keeping 2 nights a week ALWAYS open for a M&G (if possible). That means I'd never have to schedule a M&G more than 4 days out, and usually much sooner.
What is your experience with cancellations? And what is your strategy on timing/scheduling a M&G?
