300 to meet but with no expectations is such a contradiction in terms. I don't fault you for considering that kind of ask an immediate no fly zone. But I would have at least tried to explain to her that $ugar is only available after we meet and begin an authentic arrangement. I might even suggest that this policy of mine helps me weed out the girls who are scammers and only want to make money having free lunches. Occasionally this approach will reveal someone with genuinely good intentions who had not thought about how this works from our perspective. But not often.
You may be right. If I'd been in a smaller market with fewer choices, I might have spent more time to determine if there was something to like beyond the poor first impression she made on me.
