Not sure how to tell this bizarre tale, so I'll jump right in.  About 2 years ago I noticed a drop dead gorgeous profile pop up, one so beautiful she truly was tgtbt! Call her H. But hope springs eternal, so I sent her some DMs.  The most I got in return was a few one word replies.  I asked for a meetup irl, never got a response.  No biggie, I never thought I'd meet her anyway.

Fast forward to a month ago. I was favorited by a nice enough looking 28yo redhead.  Call her P.  We started texting, but she got a bad UTI and had to postpone our planned meeting.  I even sent her $25 which she said she desperately needed to get to the hospital.  She said thank you, you saved my life!

In the meantime, just a few days ago, I got a one word DM from H who said "when?"  I suggested a few days/times, and waited to see if she'd reply.

The next day I got a text from P saying she needed $ for rent and could we meet asap.  I gently told her I was not currently available.  My resources were fully committed.  Her reply floored me!  She said the H profile was one of several fake profiles she had made and accused me of being a liar, fake, a flake and many less savory things, cuz I preferred the fake H over herself! She even sent me a screenshot of my DM to H, to prove it was one of her own fake profiles. She continued to accuse me of all sorts of bad intentions and behavior, even though I assured her I had been perfectly honest with her from the start.

I reminded her that my contact with her fake H had pre-dated my convo with her.  She even disputed that, claiming she had talked to me 2 years earlier and I had flaked on her then, but refused to tell me what her screen name might have been back then.

I know I should have quit conversing with her as soon as her revelation about her fake profiles was revealed.  But I was oddly curious to see where it would go, so I stayed engaged for way too long.  Not only that, but now when I search for P on seeking, I see yet another profile which almost certainly is another one of her fakes!  It's of a very pretty 27yo redhead, same name as P, who could very possibly be a slimmer, younger version of the same girl.

So now I know that fake profiles do exist.  But I cannot for the life of me understand why.  What benefit could she possibly be hoping to gain by posting numerous fakes?  Seems like she is intentionally trying to entrap a SD into revealing his preference for someone prettier than her. Just so she can bitch about it later.  I don't get it. Usually when someone is revealed as a scammer her profit motive is obvious.  

This behavior is totally unlike what a legit POT would do.  Deliberately setting up multiple profiles of similar SB's over multiple years and tracking POT SD's who contact one or more of those profiles...? This just screams "scammer." And they were successful - to the tune of $25.  Not a big win. But enough for them, to ratchet up the comms and pressure.  

 
The first contact was what they call a "phishing" attack: Cast a wide net and see how may fish get caught in the net.  
The second contact was what they call a "spear phishing" attack: Aim and one specific target and try to spear him and reel him into the boat. They use your interaction with the 1st to try to control your interaction with the second (and subsequent) profiles.  

 
I will give you props for continuing the chat. The longer you can keep them talking, the more intel you can collect. But the same applies to them, and you need to be careful what additional info you reveal.  

 
Question: where either profile selfie-verified? Did you try any reverse image checks, or other vetting? How did you send the $25? Did you get "her" account ID from the transfer? Sometimes you can get real-world info like a name by how that transfer shows on your account statement.  

 
I've come the point with vetting POT's that my tolerance for anything outside the expected path is a yellow to red flag.  If she strays too far away from my ideal SB archetype, I downvote her immediately, if not just walk away.  Maybe that's a luxury I enjoy from having multiple SB's and other options at hand. With the ability to get laid within 24 hours, I just don't want (need?) to chase the low-percentage opportunities.

Seems  "I " (splitting the difference between H and P) has already managed to extract money from you.  She obviously doesn't know you're are a very senior, polished and knowledgeable member on this sub Forum.  Pussy "P" is just trolling  you but it suggests she/they are probably English-speaking scammers who have quite a sophisticated operation going on.

The scammer operations are indeed getting sophisticated. I believe they keep databases and once they run your profile and photo through their 'sucker vetting system' it brings up your past contact info and see if it matches with any previous attempts. If you haven't 'bitten' and show a history of not taking the bait, they simply ghost you. That would explain the high number of dead end convos that occur once you go to texting offline. Once they have your phone # and photo, if they get a match you aren't a sucker from previous attempts, they simply ghost. As for why an individual girl would post numerous fake profiles, it could be for the attention, or just the cheap thrill of stringing a guy along that might be manipulated into sending her $$.

Good questions.  The original redhead is selfie verified.  The younger looking redhead is ID verified.  I sent the $25 via cashapp and in doing so I saw her real name, plus the handle she uses on her Lyft account.  I did not use any reverse image searches.  I know you recommend them strongly.  I've tried google and tineye but, but getting a match on them is soooo very rare I hardly ever bother.  Maybe I should try more often!

So I'm doing the research I probably shoulda done first!  Anyway, I tried a google reverse image search on the younger, prettier redhead and got tons of hits!  Turns out, she's a well known up and coming young actress, with an IMDb page and several film/tv credits.  Def NOT a local sugar baby! Interestingly, Tineye got zero hits for her.  Then I tried searching the original older redhead and got nothing.  but I def know the younger one is a fake.

I don’t care what the reason is for why she needs money sent, “I’m in jail” don’t care, “I’m having a baby” don’t care, “ I need money to get to my dear dying auntie cousin” don’t care.  I just will not send money for nothing cause that means the chick ain’t free.

Best way I've found to filter scammers is:

1. Ask for her cell number immediately, like on the third or fourth message.  You should be moving things off-platform ASAP anyways.  If she won't give you her number she either isn't interested in you or is a scammer; either way NEXT.

2. Run the number through a carrier lookup tool.  There are tons of them.  If you get something like "Verizon" or "T-Mobile" or "AT&T", good to go.  If you get some jumbled garbage she's a scammer.  Google Voice is probably okay; a few super-paranoid SBs use GVoice numbers, but not as many as you'd think (and those who do tend to be more on the escort-y side of things anyways).  Although the scammers could use it in theory it looks like they prefer other services that let them cycle through numbers really fast.
