The Erotic Highway

Here is a very in-eloquent answer...

Why are women so sensitive about their age?  Im younger so maybe I don't have a clue.  I was at the bar two nights ago and two cougars came and sat next to me and it was one of their birthdays, so I asked her how old she was and the one told me "you don't ask a lady her age" then they got up and left.  Also with some providers I've noticed that you can't get a straight answer sometimes.

Thanks

I'm a geezer, so I can not fathom how people don't know that to ask a woman her age is considered rude, to say the least.

Here's what you do the next time this situation happens:

You tell her:  "Oh, so I guess you can drink legally now?"

Believe me, you'll get a much nicer response.

I should know better than that.  It didn't help the situation that I was drunk.  But next time I will use that line.

I am very sorry if I interject in here with this in-eloquent response, in lieu of LG's response which is no doubt going to be as always very thoughtful, eloquent and well-qualified:

Since you are a guy, I will use the automobile analogy because it will stick and you will remember not to make the same mistake ;)

If you see all the nice, shiny and brand new autos on the market today and compare them to many models from yesteryears, you will see "improvements" in over all design, ergonomics, equipment feature and so forth. So for instance if you own a 1995 Honda Civic and sit in a 2011 Honda Civic, you will feel a bit inadequate about yours. Many women because of self-esteem and insecurity issues have similar mindset that just like autos, there is a new version just around the corner and they want to keep up with the trend, because they know as to how much "most" guys like their autos to be new ;) Now, there are many women who use the marvel of the modern medicine and technology and go for regular "maintenance" but then again, we have "mechanics" and then we have mechanics ;)

There are of course exceptions to the rules, as there are always: some cars are built so beautifully that they are meant to last in our eternal memories, they are often emulated but never duplicated. For instance, the 1955 Mercedes Benz Gullwing is one of such rarities. If you put that car against today's counterpart, the Mercedes Benz SLS AMG, the original will still draw Oooooos & Aaaaahs just like its modern successor. For the car fanatics who are in love with their domestic muscle cars or any other Euro classic, exotics, the same parallels apply between the classics & contemporaries. There is nothing quite like a "concourse-de-elegance", but then again, there are not too many of those around ;)

Hope this helps, CS~

Pretty much an evolutionary no-brainer, BoyToy4U,

A woman's "currency" is measured in putative fertility - the more years you pile on, the less fertile you become, the less men will unconsciously be directed toward you, the less "value" you will have on the mating market, and the harder you will have to work to "conceal" your age.

Yes, some women get very aggravated when you ask them their age; it may not be conscious with them, but age is a touchy and sensitive issue, based on the above evolutionary premise.

A woman is only as old as she looks - and don't go messing with that formula, my little boy :-D

You Sire, have some great one liners and my 20 bucks monthly subscriptions to TER is more than well compensated by just learning such anecdotes from people like you! Here I was giving a fuddy-duddy response to the youngster going on all about modern autos vs classics and you nailed it in one line. Bravo, I take my hat off to you (coming from a 45 YO who still thinks he is at most 35 YO!!!)

If you drive the aforementioned 1955 Gullwing and then take a 2011 Honda Accord for a spin, you will notice that no matter how many heads turn for the Benz, the Accord is superior in handling and performance.

In the hands of a highly skilled and professional driver, the iconic 1955 SL300 Gullwing will run circles around a 2011 Honda Accord.

I am sure that Marylin Monroe would not necessarily score a PERFECT TEN across the board if compared to some of the "sirens" which one may see on a daily basis at any mall in America, but then again, one is Marylin Monroe and the others are; just who? I am just saying ;)

This actually was a hotly debated issue in an anthropology class I had my sophomore year...women who have lost their reproductive ability are sometimes booted out of their tribe in the higher primates, which seemed rather callous but it was part of the necessity to perpetuate the species.  Another interesting fact was that women in close societies will synchronize cycles to ensure multiple caregivers for offspring and socialization of the children -- women are fascinating creatures.
