I notice lately the more stuff that is on my mind (like stress from work & relationship issues) the less hornier I get on a daily basis. Should I force myself to see a provider and get action even if I am not in the mood just so I don't deteriorate in my sexual health? I notice when I have less things on my mind and happier I want to see a provider, but with other stuff on my mind I am not in the mood.

Dear newbieone,

Absolutely not. Do NOT force the issue. It is completely normal not to be "in the mood" just because sex is there and available at a price.

Trust me, you will not "deteriorate in your sexual health," even if you abstain from engaging sexually for months at a time. On the contrary - building up some anticipation can make the experience all the more fabulous when it finally comes around. In the meantime, get all the important stuff done. You can always reward yourself for a job well done later!

Don't sweat it, the plumbing will still work,

Why spend hard-earned money if you're not into it. Just wait till you do get in the mood.

You think you're responsible for our nations entire GDP? Hell NO!!!

Unless you have so much cashish that you could do so without blinking.

What in hells creation is obligatory sex?

I've had several times when I found myself in the mood, set something up, but when the time came, was no longer in the mood. Since I didn't think it was fair of me to cancel, I went anyway. I was soon put back in the mood. I've also found, when my mood and libido is low, having a full body massage can restore both. But, you don't want to make it a performance issue. If you're not really interested, that's alright too.

I bought it way back when it came out and still give it a peek every now and then when I want a giggle.

what do you mean by performance issue?

"use it or lose it." So, you might feel you have to perform the sexual act at a certain frequency in order not to lose your capacity to have sex. I was not talking about performance anxiety, and how that may enter into the sex act.

Most people have made an appointment in advance only find their mood has changed when the big day arrived.  That's difficult to avoid.  But I wouldn't deliberately set up a situation with a provider when I wasn't in the mood.

In addition to exercise, another poster mentioned massage, and that's a great stress-relief too- especially if you can find a masseuse whose company you enjoy.

Not too long ago I had an appointment scheduled, and the day of I had job stress and a headache that was getting progressively worse. I considered cancelling. Turns out I had a great time with a hot gal who was just the tonic I needed.
