So I'm not a frequent hobbyist, maybe once every couple months on average.  I decided to check out the sugar scene a few years ago through SA.  I found the whole process too much of a pain and would just let my membership lapse and then sign back on when the whim hit me. So I dabbled but had only 2 ever progressing further than a first meet, and never really found anyone that totally checked my boxes.  I occasionally found myself nodding to every post or article calling SA a scam.

Holy hell did that ever change a few weeks ago.

Saw a profile, started chatting.  Shortly after, with no high expectations, I found myself, stunned and slack-jawed, having coffee with a young brunette Diane Kruger.  We had an amazing conversation and later had a couple meetings I would call real dates under any other circumstance.  In fact, once when I handed her an allowance she even looked surprised and said she wasn't expecting anything. As things progressed I found out she really was just looking for someone who would take care of her and who she could devote herself to pleasing.  Needless to say, I'm pretty happy with how things are going.

So for anyone wondering, there are good- no, amazing- women into sugar dating and on SA in particular.  It may take a long time to connect with them, but if you're lucky and patient the reward can be mind-blowingly good.  It's a shame- I have friends who are good guys that might find what they're looking for in the sugar dating world, but I'm not comfortable talking about that aspect of my life with them.  Hopefully one of them hobbies in secret as well, reads this forum, and decides to check out the sugar scene as well.

This method takes a lot of work and effort plus literally a tremendous amount of leg work before it pays off and then again, it will NEVER pay off for some. Without getting into to the reasons as to why and how at the expense of ruffling some feathers, it is suffice to just state that some guys really ought to stick to the Pros and just beeline to that place of Nirvana. However for those who have the grasp of some basic "game" fundamentals, are willing initially to part with say 500 (give or take), are honest in their intentions, are fortunate to be in fertile and large SB market and are prepared to put in the required time, this method will pay back handsome dividends!

People like GaGa, SftD and I are akin to SA unicorns in our own unique ways because we are single, detached and pretty much carefree which can not be said about a good portion of the SA patrons. If I was a person of extremely high net worth, married with a family who stood to lose MUCH, I would be terrified to use a medium such as SA as there are so many grey and blurred lines but to each his own!

1. "Basic" game fundamentals? You mean A "bullshit" artist.
2. I can part with $500 to see a nice SB. The part I disagree with is parting with a lot of money just to join these sites with no guarantees. Paying hard earned money to open credits to message potential SBs and receiving zero in return.
3. Honest intentions? That counts for squat in these SB/SD sites.
4. Prepared to put in the required time? Some people have to get up early in the morning and go to work all day.
5. I wasn't prepared for the amount of trash and elephant dung that went my way when joining these sites: heavyset disgusting women, con artists, hookers, and time wasting flakes.

I won't bother by delving too much into your post, but I've got to summarize by telling you that your attitude is all wrong starting with your first line!

To know some fundamentals of wooing women or a game which you play in the dating scene is not necessarily tantamount to being a BS artist. I was not referring to The Game all Pick Up Artists (PUA) and crap like that, although if some PUA instructors teach men to be a MAN and self improve, there's nothing wrong with that but then again I digress. Also note that I had said be earnest and honest in your intentions so clearly I was not advocating BS'ing women!  

Seriously any kind of courtship requires some effort on the part of the man. Just don't be a supplicating doormat allowing women to walk all over you! Be a man who has his own interests, passion and his "own" time so you don't fall into the trap of being avail for that one girl who gives you the runaround. I personally have no problem holding a younger flowers hands and giving her gentle kisses on her soft skin so much as I have no problem retorting to another young flower who acts up in public and wants (the wrong kind of) attention, to quit that sh*t or else she'd have to call her own Uber!

The Pro game spoils some of you guys because you fall mostly for their BS facade and platitudes! But then again, that tempo wasn't for me and this method is exactly up my alley, so bite me!

TL;DR: Sugar dating can actually be quite close to real dating.  And just like real dating, getting the most out of it depends on timing and luck, probably much more than your own efforts.

Completely agreed with you there was a LOT of wading through crap and even some disappointment after promising meetings went nowhere, and my stomach probably has an ulcer from all the coffee I've had.  I'd been on there for at least 3 years and hadn't found anything so believe me I get what you're saying.  It probably is similar to panning for gold lol.

I read in another thread someone describing sugar dating as not quite dating, not quite escorting, but something entirely new given most people's previous lack of access to what is probably quite an old but uncommon social dynamic.  I have to agree with that, and I now see sites like SA as much more similar to other dating sites like Match.com, meaning that, as Principium said, some might not ever get anything out of the site.  Kind of sucks since their marketing sells the idea that sugar dating reverses the usual "guy chases girl" dynamic, whereas in reality I believe the best non-working girls will have their pick of suitors, and if they're not really interested in getting as many SDs as possible, then it will again come to who can impress them the most.  It just won't work like finding a pro, where you can generally know what you're getting for your contribution and can even go to sites like this one to confirm your expectations.

Ultimately, in my experience with SA, just like with real dating it seems like you and your SB have to be on at the same time, and have to have been lucky enough to connect, then find each other attractive enough to give it a chance to see where it goes.  Also like real dating one's efforts may not be directly proportional to one's results lol.  In my situation, I'm pretty average looking for my age, and I'm probably better off than most my age but not NBA baller.  What I can do well is make a girl smile and laugh and feel good about herself, which may cause some to roll their eyes here, but I wouldn't ever consider myself good at game.  In fact, I bought hook line and sinker into the whole "girl chases guy" marketing message because I suck at game.  I can't tell you how many times I've been friend-zoned lol.

First and foremost, my intention was not to offend you so I would feel a bit badly if I did. I was also not insinuating that you have no "game" but was merely expressing that even though nit as much as IRL dating, sugar dating still requires some level of "wooing" a woman because women are not like most guys who have an on/off switch when it comes to their sexual desires as they need to be dialed up to that level and hence why I take my hat off to hookers who are such great actresses to be able to fake and mimic how men are turned on.
