If you use your everyday phone for sexual purposes, it's relatively easy for someone to ID you and send you threatening messages. Obviously, a burner phone can solve the problem.

I am happy using Hushed.com --"-Hushed offers local, mobile, and toll-free numbers from all over the world, with flexible short-term or long-term subscriptions, prepaid plans, or pay-as-you-go plans from as low as $2.99"

They should never be able to find your real info. Since they don't know who I am, I get fewer threatening texts, but feel grateful to know that, if I get such a text/phone call, they can't track me down.

So I get a text message earlier from an 818 area code(CA), I am on the East coast. The text addresses me by my first name with a question mark next to it. I answer “Yes” thinking it was a former SB that relocated to the West. They respond with,” I have something to tell you”. They proceed to tell me I have been text a 14 year old, asking for pics and and offering money to meet up for sexual acts.  They then proceeded to tell me they are telling their parents and calling the police, they are not bluffing, but want to “help me out”. As soon as I read all this, I responded back “I am sending this to my local law enforcement for an extortion attempt” They responded with they have screenshots and are sending to law enforcement and tell them you were trying to pay a minor for sex.

Naturally, after their last text responding to mine, they never texted back.

Needless to say this bothered me. I start thinking of who I chatted with, since my wheelhouse is 25 and up. I realized I was played on SA by a 20 year old that ghosted me after asking my name and cell#. She texted a few things and disappeared.

I never on SA or Text discuss pics, or anything sexual (until after we meet) and naturally, anyone under 18 is off limits and I never in my life would ever entertain someone below  the legal age.

Just curious to see if anyone has experienced this and is it better to ignore or fight the urge to respond back.

Mine was very upsetting until I realized it was a total scam.  I got a phone call from  a man claiming I was corresponding with his underage daughter.  His wife supposedly worked for the police and the daughter borrowed her work computer without permission in order to communicate with me.  The girl broke her Mom's computer so if I would just sent him  $1400 for a new one he'd make the whole situation go away.  As if.  I do sometimes discuss sexual matters on the SA site, but you have reminded me that it's probably not a great idea, so thanks.  And I always ask for proof of age at our first meetup irl.  2 of my current SBs, who are both in their mid 20s, could easily pass for teens.  And some young teens could easily pass for 18+.  One thing for sure, SA does NOT require the girls to provide proof of age, so it's up to each of us to be vigilant.
