My opponent re-raises, signaling the nut-flush. I call(knowing I have a 20% draw towards a full house), and two other people call. River pairs the board with a 4 of Clubs. I'm sitting on the nuts and my opponent bets into me......Sweet!
No, the turn made me a set with 9 outs(20% chance of catching my card). I was in the lead before the flop, on the flop, and only had to play catch up after the turn.
You were in the lead before the flop, but you can't possibly like your hand when it gets capped on the flop. That SCREAMS two pair, straight draws, and flush draws. Sure, you have a good chance of having the best hand on the flop, but there are more cards in the deck that hurt you than help. That much betting on the flop, and someone usually has something big.
