You could have ignored her message.
You could have merely assented to her simple and positive greeting.  
You could have made a dad joke to keep the mood light.  

But you chose hate, hurtfulness and spite. You chose to turn a simple Hallmark sentiment into an opportunity to denigrate, to belittle and to vilify. What inside you caused this reaction I can only guess at. But the bitterness in your response speaks volumes more about you than your target.  Your desire to inflict pain doesn't make you look tough, or clever or manly. It makes you look weak, petulant and pathetic. If that's what you were going for, job well done.
