Though I do have to deal with plenty of BS in my life, I try not to generate it.
But several providers have told me that I am not the typical hobbyist. Apparently I am smarter, sweeter and better looking than most of you.
Okay, well, re: the BS, two out of three ain't bad!
My guess is most are very practical/no BS type of people. They are most likely atheist/agnostic. I can't see someone religious/idealistic/artsy having the savvy to negotiate all the hoops to practice this hobby. Also I would think most like rock and hard rock music . It is the only genre that actually has songs dedicated to this hobby. What do you think?
If you looked at even a relatively recent history of the posts here you'd find the personalities, interests, and preferences vairy a lot on almost any significant topic.
I'd say maybe .5 out of 3 correct for me.

I am not religious , am agnostic, have no time for BS, nor artsy, and like rock music, but the ultra-hard shit that some of my friends like isn't that cool. This fits much of your profile, but...I like computer gaming, watching my NY teams win championships (Go Yanks! Go Big Blue!), and like watching my investments pay off so as to allow travel and hobbying. As for music dedicated to the hobby...the only music when hobbying that I care about is whatever the lady I am meeting sees fit to play. As for my personal preferences, see my handle.
1) practical
this i can debunk from personal experience. abstractions, artistic and intellectual, are what keeps me happy. if i didn't have an assistant to take care of practical details i'd be a goner. the thing is that good companionship is a great motivator and i can be practical to make it work. the classical composer Johannes Brahms was extremely well known among the working girls of Vienna.....
2) atheist, agnostic
and Brahms was somewhat religious BTW.
clearly you are unaware of the long tradition of temple prostitution in ancient India and Mesopotamia? clergy today often suffer from the fact that only extremely sexually repressed women want to marry them, even if they are allowed to marry. i'm not going to discuss religious affiliations but several clergy that i know hobby because the spouse is holier than they are. you also likely don't read the news. haven't you heard about the TV ministers who've been outed for hobbying?
3) only rock and hard rock has music for the hobby
Alban Berg wrote a whole opera about a compensated companion. it's called Lulu.
the heroine of Gerorges Bizet's opera Carmen likes sex so much she doesn't really care about the money so much.... she is the operatic archetype of the hooker who is also a hobbyist. (i love my work.....)
Giuseppe Verdi's "La Traviata" (it means "the working girl) is about Violetta a prostitute
Puccini, Auber, and Masseset each wrote an operatic version of the "Manon Lescaut" story also about a working girl. there are others.......
and i haven't even begun with jazz and blues references!
an artsy, impractical, religious (nice Catholic boy), guy as ever there was died of syphilis contracted from visiting low end providers in Vienna.
tra = trans, across
via = road, street
so literally the "girl across the street". more euphemistically the "girl who's lost the way".
one is free to pick a raw and direct translation or a sugar coated one. i thought that since the OP leads a sheltered an innocent life that something a little raw might be more appropriate.
Haven't heard of all the sex (hetro & homo) scandals involving religious personalities? You could argue that, the religious personalities involved were really atheists and agnostic and were pretending to be religious for sex and money.
Haven't you noticed all the BS and drama on these boards?
Both assumptions are invalid, hence theory flops.
I do tend to be practical but my life is full of BS that I often start. So your half right on the first one. I am a idealistic semi-religious Cristian so your wrong on the second part. I like a large variety of music: rock, hard rock, county, Celtic, blues, classical, African tribal, opera, and much more, but I'll give you that one as I do like rock and hard rock music. Total score 1.5 out of 3, half right 50% thats an F my friend try again. Hobbyist and providers comes in all shapes, sizes, personality types and backgrounds. The only common thing they often share is the hobby itself. Hell the reasons people hobby even varies from person to person. Please do not try to group your fellow hobbyists into a single category as you will be wrong unless it is something obvious like liking sex and willing to pay for it.
except maybe when I'm in the mood for some Euro Jazz or Latin / Flamenco / jazz fusion.
I've had enough women, pro and civvie alike, tell me that I am a one-off, and NOT always in a complimentary manner lol.....
County and Western.
I am the Pope of my own religion which believes in the supremacy of the egg plant.
I have dedicated what little spare time I have to learning everything about nothing and nothing about everything and as a result now know nothing about anything.
I can read and write in over 100 languages that have not yet been discovered.
I have faced armies that turned back after seeing my icy stare, yet been conquered by an infant.
I have more degree than a thermometer, yet I'm totaly self taught.
I am seven years old.
Yup, fairly typical.
did Lucille leave the farm for "the biz"?
As in the old WWI tune:
How are ya gonna keep 'em down on the farm, once they've seen the farm?
"Fancy" left the farm for "the biz" with her mother's blessing and see money
We need more mothers like that in this world...
the hard rock/rock is right....no bs is right..... but I'm kinda artsy an idealistic. I'm sure there some religious zealouts that enjoy a good romp with a companion!!!! i would add....free thinkers, maybe a little on the liberal side.....and someone that loves adventure and/or travelling........
Yeah, I thought we were all old, ugly rich dudes. But after spending 10-11 months on the boards and reading thousands of reviews and board posts, I realized that hobbyists are pretty fucking diverse!
I think some trends you will see in the population is that:
1. we are not unusually good looking
2. we tend to be upper middle class or richer
3. we tend to be more open minded than the average guy
4. we are risk takers!
I think this is all wrong. I think hobbyists are just as different as providers. Rock is the only genre dedicated to this hobby? Nooooo.
