I think your answer is in the US Members Notice.  Your credit card is processed by a third party (which I think is also a European company) and your credit card issuing US bank only knows you did business with the CC processor, not that the funds ultimately ended up at TER.  TER, in turn, only knows that the "account" received a payment, and it doesn't matter to them (at least that's the way I interpret it) who the account "holder" is.  I could be wrong, but I don't think so based on the way the payment system works.  

Auto-pay, where your CC gets automatically billed each month (or quarterly or yearly depending on what you initiated).  It means you will become a regular member unless you can pay through the VPN connection.  I don't have any inside info, so I might be construing this incorrectly fro what I'm reading and my past experience with the payment system.  Hopefully, TER will clarify for Mick and he can explain it.

I think TER meant they have stopped auto-billing for VIP, which was the norm.  Those who signed up for auto-billing and can't see TER have no way to cancel, and would feel ripped-off if auto-billing continued.

Thought of upgrading to VIP. Two diff credit cards declined, had used them in the past without problems. The banks emailed me re fraud alert and I gave it the ok and retried but no dice.  

TER isn't going away. Just no access from the USA as according to US law.

I have access to search reviews and see details and my "remaining days of VIP" continue to count down. Haven't tried messaging.

I travel a lot. I travel to the USA and I travel outside the USA. It was expressed to me that at this time TER is not accepting credit cards from USA Customers. When I signed up at TER I happened to be in the USA, and I used a USA issued CC to make the membership payments. Hence, in TER's world I am a USA customer. So what to do? I was sent to the following membership page of payment options:  

And cleared that CAPTCHA thingy just fine.

Its against the rules to publish on the boards ANY content from a PM with ANYBODY according to my understanding.  That's most likely why it was removed.  

Without the VIP a person can see a providers profile page, but not all of it. They can see the General Information and Appearance sections, but they cannot see the the Services Offered section, or the juicy details inside the Review section.

Your statement actually makes no sense at all and is completely wrong.  There is no connection between the number of reviews a provider has here and what parts of her profile you can read. It ONLY has to do with whether or not you have VIP.  If you don't, you can't read the details of her profile or the "Juicy Details." If you do have VIP, you can.

so I can read the entire review... so how it is going to work now? if no payments are accepted... I mean... I am in London at this moment haha

I also pay for my VIP so that i can see entire review. Free VIP for providers is very limited.
