I initially wrote an in-depth post about my encounter with an escort who was underage who claimed to be 24 on her ad on backpage. since then i have decided to delete my post (i did not do anything illegal with this girl as her age was revealed early in our encounter), however, I am curious to hear from people on the discussion boards on their thoughts of 'underaged escorts' and how to go about dealing with one.

a short version of my story was: i called and went to her place assuming she was 24, as indicated on the backpage ad. a few minutes into talking with her, i find that she is 16. i leave quickly.

what should i do, or what should i have done? is it typical protocol to card everyone you encounter? what is the typical protocol in situations like this?

any constructive advice would be appreciated. i may post the entire story after and what i did afterwards, but would like to hear other's thoughts first.

The young ones that I have been with show me drivers ID so know they are off age. COPS could have been hiding in the room you made a wise decision. I will tell you this that LE and human trafficking watchdog groups are looking at BP ads 24x7. If they have a hint a lady is under age they will set up a outcall sting. They id the lady and if she is of the proper age they tell her not to come back into the area. If she is under age they arrest her and try to find out who she is working for.

Yes, you did the right thing by leaving quickly. I like em young, but minors are strictly off my menu. For that reason, I avoid the ones who advertise in the 18-20 range. NOT a good thing for a whole lot of reasons beginning with your own safety.

I would consider reporting it to LE or even child protective services. Minors are ALWAYS exploited by an adult. They can't get a room or even travel without an adult to help them. That's a given. Most cities have a Vice unit with an email for reporting possible crimes. Get a blind hotmail address and send the ad to the unit with the only notation, "this is a minor advertising sexual services." They will usually act quickly and not be that interested in following up on the person reporting. Hell, delete the hotmail account. You've done your job.

Child Protective Services have hot lines. Call them from a pay phone. They even have laws which protect the person reporting things like this in most states. If they want too much information, tell them, "look, I'm trying to help some poor young girl and now my job is done." Hang up and walk away.

The exploitation of children is the ugly side of this business and ALL of us should do our best to prevent it. Things like this creep me out and the adults who exploit minors should be serving long sentences.

You could save a life.

Don't find hire escorts FROM ANYWHERE unless you know what you are doing.


I'm glad you found out. I'm glad you did the right thing. But you didn't learn your lesson did you? Didn't learn a thing. Here's the problem... almost everyone under 21 has a fake ID now-a-days.. they have it primarily to get into bars, but for the ladies who have decided to go this route, they CAN rent hotel rooms, they CAN post ads, & if you ask for ID, they have their fake one to show you.. it's usually an older sisters, or someone that looks like them, but passable. And if they've been emancipated they can even rent an apartment.

However, please do not recklessly post statements. Especially statements that wrongfully implies any law-breaking intent that you believe i may have. it is very misleading to other readers and is an unfair assessment of what your perceive my character to be.
