Do you believe in love? As in romantic love? I believe love is just lust over a long period of time and eventually dies away. I sit and watch trailers of movies like "The Vow" and think to myself what a load of bollox they are.
What do you think - does it exist? Am I missing something?

The love you are describing is just lust love, and it's different from romantic love. There are different types of love, such as Eros, Phillio, Stora, Storge, and Agage. There are a couple more. The love you are describing is a physical love, not romantic love. A romantic love with a partner have more to do with relationships and emotions, which is Eros love. The love you are talking about is Venus love. Loving your family member is Storge. Do a quick research and you will find different types of love.

I have been in many relationships in the past, and I have experience many different types of love with women. I love some for their body, and fulfilled my lustful desires. However, this was not the greatest and healthiest relationship I was in. I've found some that loved me for who I am, even if I only had a penny, those were the greatest relationships to be in IMO. Sex may not be the greatest, and physically they don't look the best, but, they will be there for you through thick and thin.

Not to go in dept, but I do believe in romantic love. I've experience it before, so, I can comment on this subject. BTW, the ones to stay away from are the ones that love you for your money.

It is an active participation with another, and requires knowledge, care, respect, and practice to bring to fruition.
