I was with a new Client today, I do Web design and SEO Services for a handful of companies. And it dawned on my.  Do providers try to rank higher in the search engines, is SEO part of the marketing plan.

I would think so its a business and businesses do what they need to attract more customers. But on the other hand it draws more attention.

So i was curious

Currently, I am ranked on the second page when you google "Minneapolis Escort". Now if only I could get to the first page...that would be love.

By the way, to put things in to perspective, some providers websites don't show up in the rank or are on the 30th page.

So, yes, some providers do use SEO as part of their marketing plan.

SEO likely won't help MOST providers and it not an expense that I would recommend unless you know how to do it and keep it up. In your local market it could get you to the top 1 or 2 entries in a google sort after someone types "escort" for example.  It might even help you internationally if that is what you are looking to do.  I don't think most of us "shop" that way and if we did, well, that is for another thread. Imagine if there were not sites like TER and escort malls and such, SEO might be a more valuable commodity. It would could mean that your site would get more hits and by extension more invitations to dinner. So it really depends what you are after. If you go the social networking route (Twitter, Facebook, et al), and blogs, these help your search rankings too. Frankly, the best advertising in this biz is word of mouth. With all the other attention being paid to the internet today, sometimes hiding in plain sight is the best approach.

OMG, I don't want anyone to be able to google my site and I wish all the sites where we put ads and review sites did the same!  

So I go the extra mile to stay OUT of search engine listings.  

I only want for people within the hobby to be able to find me.

Not friends, family, and especially not the church ladies of the world!

Following where your traffic came from, their entry page, time spent on pages, and exit page...is INVALUABLE information.
A smart business person knows the value of this, and how to maximize their efforts.

But seriously, SEO on the major engines is for wide market rankings, most ladies are regional such that the usual mass-market SEO would not be beneficial. It's a target market. Quality (of referals) over quantity.

...try putting 'linkfarm, link farm, link to paysites' in your 'description' in the head of your html. If that doesn't work put the '7 forbidden words' there. Google and Yahoo and the other majors will (should) leave you out.

i am in the process of naming my new websire...and want to make sure i drive traffic to it.

there is a provider..an ebony lady...who has the words ebony and nyc in the address of her site.

pure genius on her part. if you were to put those words in a google search...she is the number one result.

for the life of me, i can not remember the exact site..

but, i think SEO is something all providers should perhaps consider....drives traffic to your site.

of course, it may have pitfalls...so one has to be careful.

There are all manner of companies that bombard other companies pitching SEO and how fast and furious they will have you on page 1 of Google. BS

It takes a lot of time to perform SEO and that is one thing these people fail to tell you. I am pitched some 3-4 times a month by these companies.

This is not something I dreamed up, I have tried a few. For a provider I'm not sure you need to be on top of the search engines. Is that IS what you want be prepared to spend some bucks for it over a long period.

Is it not what reviews are for. Reviews will deliver 10 fold what placement on page one where you must deal with tire kickers and perverts that want to waste your time. Just saying.

Make the name as short and memorable as you can. (Short names are easier to remember, & are easier to type in, of course)
Use keywords, description and title consistent with content. Salt your keywords throughout your website on every page, either in content or headers (nowadays content is better).

Don't be discouraged if the bots dont find you immediately...the search engine spiders have a lot of work to do!

Good seo practices take months to years depending on the market.

the reason for the question was not drum up business or anything like that.  I have more clients than i care to have as it is.  

i just never thought of trying to stay off search, and i was wondering if this a market that trys to stay off the radar.  


The person that responded about cpanel logs,  Log information is great to know where the traffic came from  but does nothing to get you more traffic.  If you are paying for ads and such its good to know the response levels.  Logs can tell you where to focus your efforts   if you see keywords that get traffic  you can change your SEO  tactics to take advantage of that.

Your site comes on  top on Google. HTML doesn't keep you away from search engines. Besides, all Web Pages are HTML. You even have HTML tags on  many other programs for conversion.

You don't have to preach your prowess to me. The OP is asking. I stated that for most providers, it really is not a strategy that will help them. They after all are not selling widgets. Proponents of the internet also sell a lot of snake oil as is the case with most new phenomena. Whether she is a well traveled provider or someone looking to make more money in her region, she's got one pussy and she can only rent it out for a certain amount of time. Until she can bottle it and put it in her virtual store, she most often paying you to pay her. I guess that's what you mean by a good thing?

I know very well what web pages are in because i hand wrote every sentence of the html for my site myself.  That's right I created my entire site using only notepad.

However, you are correct that my site is coming up and it should not be.  I will have to correct this.  

I use the html code that tells the bots not to index or archive my site so I have to see what is up with this.  Why do people have to be so mean?

Ya... SEO is the main reason why I bother to blog and twitter, and also why I base my site on WordPress.

I get alot of search engine hits, and am trying to rank higher for relevant phrases like "St. Louis Escort" and "dinner companion".

After a site is built, it can be fun to tweak it and play with different SEO tactics, and see how small changes affect hits from Search Engines. I am constantly learning and applying different things to it.

I want to be found by those searching for me, and don't consider this any higher or lower profile than other forms of advertising.

I did not start it as a joke no.  For the first time i had a client tell me when designing his site  to keep it off the Search engines. I had never had a client request that, so i was curious if there was other markets that preferred to Stay UTR with Search engines.

It get your site out of the index  make sure to incude the the follow tags in the Head portion of the html on every page you do not want indexed.

META NAME=" ROBOTS" CONTENT=" NOINDEX"

a better solution is to ad a robots.txt file  but if you have a small site the lien above will keep them from indexing for the most part.  and you can contact google via webmaster tools to get your pages that show up already removed.

Yes that is exactly the html that I DO NOW have in my site pages.  And I do believe I also DO HAVE the robots.txt file in place as well.  Before my site was NOT indexed so I am rather distressed to see that it now does come up in a search.  However, most of that stuff coming up in the search is off of Twitter and other ad sites, so that'a my issue for being on Twitter.

If you have links from your Twitter account linking to your website then they will show up in search engines. Any outside links pointing toward your site will show up. So, I guess to remain completely anonymous to the web you would have to remove the links pointing to your site.
