You get a call and arrange an appointment.   You show up at the hotel ready for anything .... you knock on the door ... the door opens ... and it's your .... father/brother/uncle/daytime employer or next door neighbor.

Do you:

A) Say "We at the front desk need to ask you to hold down the noise"
B) Say "Glad I tracked you down ... there's a problem at home we need to talk about"
C) Say "The girl you hired can't show up and asked me to convey her apologies"
D) Laugh and say "I won't tell Mom if you don't"
C) -or-    ?

Wow! Has or did that really happened to you? If so, I would be very interested in knowing how you finessed your way out of it. Well, here's a suggestion. I don't know about other companions, but it's not a bad idea to start a date in the lobby or restaurant of your friend's suite or a restaurant nearby. I say this because when you walk into a restaurant or lobby of a hotel, if your brother/father/cousin/nephew/uncle etc saw you, you can always use meeting another friend as a reason for being there.  You can also say that you are meeting a client(if you have other business as I do) or just simply say, "I've always wanted to dine at this hotel as a treat for myself".

There are a multiplicity of explanations if you're fast on your feet. It's always good to have a few explanations to work with for a given situation so that you're not caught off guard.

P.S  It's not a very good idea to meet someone at their hotel room door to begin a date for various reasons. Good luck!

Came a little close once when I had a client who turned out to know the director of the company I worked for at the time but as I always keep my day job employment stuff fairly vague it was OK.  Did set me wondering about my director being the client...which would have been a very unpleasant thought!!

I insist on a full real name as it reads off the passport, driver's license, of anyone I am going to possibly date.

Provider references alone don't cut it, no matter HOW GREAT a date they say he is.  My "girls" are great, and they screen well, too, but once in a while they'll go with less than a full name, and I can't date on just a ladies say so, you MUST start fresh with me.

It just isn't going to happen to me.  If I can't verify ahead of time who exactly you are, we aren't going to make a date.  Again, if you don't trust me to be discreet, we just can't date.

P.S.  One of my mottos when making arrangements for a date... One Lie~~ GOODBYE!

Frankly, I prefer to meet in the lobby and then have a drink, so if either party is uneasy we can call it quites and not feel we need to rush because we can't wait to get out of the situation.  My .02

don't you think that is a bigger problem?

I myself do not know one of my next door neighbor's names so It would be a problem for me if they showed up at the office unannounced.  I suppose if you have a service that might happen but assuming your father was using a pseudoname, and he was sitting in a hotel bar, how would you even know what he was there for unless you had a prearranged signal with the client?

Curious as to how all this works since I never hobby where I live.  Except in September.  Some very nice lady apparently made a mistake and is visiting my town.  Can't wait

Seems to me there were one or two provider experiences very similar to this on the "your worst experience" thread a while back.  I remember one involving the father of the provider's daughter's best friend.

Elise, I'm not sure even your screening would have caught that one.  No system is totally foolproof and sometimes it's just "shit happens".  Luckily the odds are well in your favor.

Happened to me once as a client. Where I work (a university), I supervise several student employees. One time I was in another city and called to make an appointment with an escort. I get to the door of her incall and, when she opens it and I walk in, my eyes adjust to the light and we look at each other and do a mutual "YOU???"

She was one of my former employees, now in grad school and using escorting to help pay her way through. We had been pretty good friends during the years she worked for me, so I'm stunned neither of us recognized the other over the phone. I can only think that it had been a couple of years and neither of us was expecting it. After a few seconds of stunned silence, we both started laughing and making dumb excuses at the same time. Finally I said to her "Are you comfortable with going through with this? If not, say so and I'll leave. I'll admit, however, I'd often day-dreamed about you."

Turns out that day was my lucky day. She was not only comfortable, but the fact we had had a friendly working relationship made her more relaxed with the situation. To be honest, the next two hours were among the best I've ever spent with an escort. I realize these situations can turn out bad, so I thank the stars that I hit a one-in-a-million break.
