I have a lot of them as well, just as I'm sure 99% of the population does. Some are bad memories and songs that link me to them, and some are good.

There is one in particular that has always meant a lot to me. It's "Una Soda" by The Refreshments.

I was 19 or so, living in a travel trailer out in the boonies by myself. It was a pretty rough time in my life, but I had a black lab out there with me to keep me company.

One night, I let my dog in the trailer with me (I never did that, but I broke the rule and let him in) I turned off all the lights, put a sleeping bag over me and had this big ole huge black lab jump up on my recliner with me. For 2 hours straight I played that song on repeat, in the dark, just the moonlight showing through the window, my dog falling asleep on top of me. It was such a completely peaceful, beautiful and simple emotional time that I've always held that song as one of favorites of all time. I can't help hearing it and thinking of that time.

The simple things truly are the best in life.

Dang it, now you've made me put that song on in the dark.

(misses his dog now)

I love music and yes I have many songs that remind me of things, events in my life. One of my many regrets in life is I never took the time to learn to play an instrument...guess that's why I pay these nice lady's to play mine.lol

Moon River still makes me dreamy and brings back one of my very early romances full of dramatic and wild swings of ups and downs, passion and anger.  I wonder what ever happened to her?  She would be a cute little old lady by now as she was significantly than I was.

Album;..Dark Side Of The Moon...Pink Floyd.
17 yrs old + Hippie Lettuce + Headphones = WOW!
If you haven't tried it,you need to!..Once in a lifetime experience!...I'm now 52 y/o and no longer partake of the Hippie Lettuce,,,but will never forget the experience!

Darkside of the moon
I was 18yrs old, stoned, listening to Floyd with the tv on and the volume down,
all of a sudden they broke in with a news cast, special report so I turned the volume up on the tv when they flashed the picture of John Lennon, caption read John Lennon shot.
Never forget that, listening to the tv with Wish you were here playing in the background. I think about it every time that song plays.

Ravel's Bolero played over and over in a dark frat house attic, waiting for 2 hits of acid to kick in - frat house initiation.  To this day, I will skip Phila Orchestra performance of this piece.

I take it...it was a bad "Trip"!...I know where your coming from!....Scary!

One of my favorites is a song that I put on a mix for a special date at a mountain cabin with my ATF. It was the first song on the CD and it has my ATF's real name (which I didn't know at the time) in it. Every time I hear that song I get total sensory memories of that time- smells, touches, tastes, the whole gamut.

Thanks for reminding me!!

from by gone years..Oh how wonderful to relive your youth through nostalgic music. I will do that often with my favorite scent  burning and a lava lamp given as a gift. The 60's and 70's molded who I am today and music was very much a part of the era.

I seldom listen to the radio anymore so that little surprise happens less often but when it does what a joy. Now it's a commercial or background music on TV, music at a mall or even music while pumping gas.

Kisses Haley

The very first date I ever went on where I asked her out, drove to her house to pick her up, went to see a movie then out for pizza, then back to her house with a goodnight kiss in the car. We saw the movie "Against All Odds", so every time I hear that song I think of that night. I was 16 at the time.

I have several and just added a few more last week after a particularly fantastic extended date with my ATF!
"Crazy Love" by Van Morrison and "Because the Night" by Patti Smith and Bruce Springsteen have moved WAAAAY up my I-pod playlist.

She's got a fine sense of humor when I'm feeling low down
And when I come to her when the sun goes down
Take away my trouble, take away my grief
Take away my heartache, in the night like a thief

She give me love, love, love, love, crazy love
She give me love, love, love, love, crazy love

If I took the time, I could probably create a whole soundtrack to my life. LOL  But I always remember my first love and three songs that always made me think of her.  Van Halen's "When it's love." The other two...well that's just for me.
