And then what it is that would make you turn away just as fast....And never look her up again.

It's the girl's pics that are to me the most important aspect of the site.  If she's got the goods I want - then I keep looking and reading.  A lot of sites have one picture - one picture!  That's a red flag to me because ANYONE can have one good picture - even my cat could look enticing in one well shot photo!  

Face is important but many blur their faces so then you move down and it comes down to body type preference.  But the pics have to be at least Penthouse quality - preferably Playboy for me.  If it's badly lit - high key light - no fill - hard inky lighting - not soft and sensual, I'm turned off.  So - get good pro pictures!  And if you're butt ugly, blur the hell out of your face!  

I have noticed a website - I won't mention whose - where someone has used a little PHOTOSHOP trickery to make herself look slimmer.  Anyone that knows what altered pictures look like would spot it in a second and this is one of the top providers always talked about in here.  That's a turnoff.

Then the web site has to load QUICK - if it's slow - I move on.

Last for me is how great she is with her writing, although many here think that that's what will make or break the deal.  Nope - if she's got reviews here - nothing else is needed.

But if she's new - a little of her personality in the text goes a long way.  Then again - it's hit or miss - some like sweet and child-like- others want downright nasty.  Since you're only guessing either way it's best to be yourself.

A turnoff to ME is overly sexual text - like "I'm dying for you to CUM see me."  I hate that.  That crap should be left to the steet merchants.  But that's just me.  I like a little - okay -- A LOT of class in the sites.  That will get me reading and looking longer.

I wholeheartedly agree with your observations regarding website design and photo quality.  It amazes me that ladies do not even consider that their website is the first thing an individual sees of them, and is a primary factor in a gentleman's business decision regarding providers.  The internet is an amazing resource, and allows you to produce an ad (your website) that would cost multiple thousands of dollars in a magazine or newspaper, yet, most providers do not even give it a cursory amount of attention.  Five hundred to 1000 dollars in investment could potentially increase your profit margin by hundreds of percent.  It's just silly to spend so much time and effort towards the personal part of your business and little or no effort on advertising.  I also feel that a website should provide a certain level of entertainment, after all, would you expect someone to come back to your site if the same pictures were there time and time again?  I really wonder if girls even track their website's statistics.  The amount of hits on your site directly correspond to the amount of business you will obtain - no hits, no business, lots of hits, lots of business.  A simple but overlooked tool to assess your website's popularity.  Once again, I must reiterate that the big corporations spend millions and millions of dollars on advertising and I doubt that they enjoy squandering that money.  They know that their advertising dollars are well spent and get them attention to their product.  The more that people notice you in a positive light, the more they desire you.

...having looked over ads and reviews I can say that I could see a different girl every week for all of 2003 and still not meet all the girls in L.A. alone that have piqued my interest.  What do these ads or reviews have in common?  I have no idea.  There is something intangible that sparks my interest.  I do not have a certain "type" that I look for and, as I eluded to in the post below, I don't always look for specific acts or services.  So I have no idea what intrigues me about a particular girl but the key is that there is SOMETHING that intrigues me--her picture, the text of her ad, her reviews, her posts here or in the chatrooms, something--I just don't know what exactly.  

I realize this does not help you at all but I do this stuff with no expectations or set definitions, but I like the mystery and intrigue that this hobby has to offer.

, rates and photos.  That process should be learned by the lady so she could take charge of the way she wanted to present herself in the net.  Besides, it is very easy to blur the face of photos using inexpensive softwares.

At the end of the day, good reviews on this board (and maybe others), a solid reputation, and a reasonable website will generate the biz that a lady will hope to generate. I personally do not like the "glitz" that some SPs show on their sites. Yes, it is the pics that will get the juices going, but if you looking for a, b, and c and you see x, y, and z, are you going to buy? Maybe, maybe not? Like one thread stated last year, it is going to be the data that you present that is going to grab a reader. The "Hollywood and Madison Ave" flash and moving piture shows are all crab! Realize that most people in the U.S. do not have DSL or cable modem service. Interestingly enough, those who do have this type of broadband service make over 70k for a living, so you tell me where your target audience is going to be. A slow site because if is poorly constructed or has too much stuff being loaded on will be a end-off. Just my two cents.

I discount the photograhy to a certain extent, knowing that it can be doctored, and because looks, for me, aren't as important as ATTITUDE.

My taste leans toward an intelligent, "girl on the street" type.  I am not a Barbie Doll fan.  When I see a web site where even single syllable words are misspelled, or simple grammar is so f--ked up, I cringe.  How do you talk to someone like this?  The brain is still ther biggest sex organ in my body.

Second, there has to be a happy or playful attitude conveyed.  mymichelle.com (she responded above as well) is an excellent site, one of the best I've seen.  And even though, in addition, Michelle is absolutely gorgeous, IMHO that's secondary to the quality of the site, which grabs you by the brain, as well as some other parts, and sucks (no pun intended!) you in.

The last piece to the puzzle in my book are the reviews.  There should be a link to reviews on TER or wherever else you have them, if in fact you're proud of them, as you should be Tammy.  A good provider is a good provider, and any potential client looking at the reviews will understand that, despite inadequacies in a web site.

Tammy, on a more personal note:  Hope your Holidays were great, and Santa was good to you.  Maybe, at some point, we'll get to meet in 2003.

Unlike Melvinator, I don't care for penthouse, or other "professional" shots. They are deceptive, as Jamie Lee curtis has recently demonstrated. I like simple snapshots, the more the better. I also like simple web pages that get right to the point. Too much fancy stuff suggests marketing, and is just tiresome. I like the "donation" specified. I don't like phony last names used, seems pretentious. I also dont like the phrases "donations start at" and "generous gentlemen."  Some examples of what I like are NY's Lisa at NYexotics and Victoria Rose on Long Island.

The way the text is written on the website reveals the attitude behind it. And, I think attitude is the most important. Of course, good pics let the hobbyist find the body type he is seeking. Stay away from slutty language, add a little humor and try to reveal your true personality. Those are the things that will attract the quality hobbists. However, if you are looking for raunchy guys, use lots of bad language and raunchy pics and they will slobber all over you.

I agree...that is why I do not use flash technology in my site. I have noticed many sites that load way to slowly. Some load in 2 to 3 minutes for a gallery. These sites use flash of course. I position my photos and pre compress them so that they will load in less than 20 seconds and usually in ten seconds. There is no point in putting up 15 galleries of photos if it takes 30 minutes to view them. People will not wait that long...

I like unobstructed pics of a woman's face and neck line. Next  would be a "curve shot" like 3/4 body in a natural pose. Sitting with legs crossed a'la Sharon Stone is pretty interesting. Simple lingerie is also interesting...

What makes me leave? Raunch... I just don't groove on the "wide open with toys" approach.... turns me off...

I'm actually kind of surprised that you would tell the ladies to be dishonest in their photos... I could very easily do pics just like Penthouse/Playboy with soft lighting, soft focus, fuzzy edges, and plenty of airbrushing... but where is the honesty in that? I think there is a balance to be found between high quality, classy pictures and an HONEST view of what we look like... I for one do not want anyone to ever show up and be disappointed because they aren't viewing me through Playboy's airbrushed rose colored glasses anymore.

I'm adversed to low budge digital camera pics that look cheap.  That reflects a lot on the person, what they think of themselves, the quality of life they may lead - or share with me.  If you take pride in your image, maybe - just maybe I'll take pride in seeing you.

different guys have different fetishes so try to appeal to everybody. Some have a foot fetish, others like girls in swimsuit or lingerie so ideally you should have pics that address that. Plus one in a nice cocktail/business suit in case we want to take you to a dinner date in a fancy restaurant.

Personally I like the girls that smile on their pics, otherwise I have a hard time believing the warm and friendly personality story.

In the reviews I look for the personality and friendliness. Seing the Ice Queen is not my idea of fun, even if she has 10 in looks.

On the site indicate how best to contact you and what is your schedule, and do not put an email address if you never check your emails.

My response to your question is with an example.  This web site is of a lady I have never been with; however, she has one of the best web sites I have ever seen in that it answers all of my questions, the pictures are wonderful, navigation is great, and everything feels professional about the site.
