Then there's the time on You Bet Your Life when Groucho bet the young husband a dollar that he could kiss his pretty wife without the husband seeing him do it. Groucho gave her a good, long smooch on the lips, then paid up. "Here's your dollar." For that alone, the dude was either a hobbyist or a player.

There are several biographies out on Groucho and each is a facinating read.

His autobiographies (He has two.) are amusing, but not at all revealing.  In fact, all of Groucho's (sadly few) books are great reads if you can find them.

I recomend above all The Life and Times of Julius Henry Marx by Stefan Kanfer.

After posting that evening I leafed through the bood which I had pulled from my library and found it difficult to put down, even though I had read it only a few years ago.

In Alice Cooper's heyday he lived near Groucho who would call him if he was having trouble sleeping. "Hey Alice, come over, I can't sleep." Alice would go over and sit with him as old black and white movies were on. When an attractive actress came on screen, Groucho would comment wheather it was him or one of his brothers who nailed her.
