Who is more scared???

Privately well more than a dozen well reviewed ladies have told me they either never, or very rarely get checked or tested for HIV/STDs.

Some have cited worries about insurance companies or employers finding out about testing.  Others have cited laziness.  Others have said,  "I always use condoms with guys so I don't NEED to get tested".  Still others have cited "too little time".

So many popular regular TER ladies have told me that they never, or very rarely get tested, that I can only conclude that the notion of provider screening for this things is an Urban Legend, Myth, or Lie.

Really?  Over a dozen ladies have told you that they don't get tested???
I might be naive but that sounds a little strange to me.  Even in civvie life, b4 my foray into this industry I got checked every year for my "Women's Wellness Check Up"...  now, I do it every 6 mo.  I don't have any problem with my insurance or Dr..  I just tell her that, yes while I'm having protected sex I can never be too sure.
May I ask what city you are reporting from?

The providers that I have seen told me they get tested a least once a year. Some get tested every month. The get around the employeer/health insurance it is best to pay in cash and go to a place that specializes in testing for STDs. Most free clinics do not test for Herpes. Results for Hiv, Herpes, and Syphilis are giving right away. Results for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea take 1 to 2 weeks. A good std testing place will check your body for other signs of infection. White blood cell count, red blood cell count, ect. In general you will find women in the hobby much safer than civies. If you are into rimming make sure you get Hepatitis test.

Another key is to stay healthy and drink plenty of water (before and after). Also make sure your cleanup between rounds.

The guidelines for testing active hobbyist once every 3 months. Providers once a month.

It's $250 to get a full 8 panel test done where I get my tests from. That seems cheap compared to how valuable my life is.  Anyone who is not willing to part with that $ every 8-12 weeks for testing is taking their own life into their hands. As providers I believe we should be tested at a minimum of every 3 months.

I don't think it's a myth etc but I think many providers make exaggerated claims with regards to the frequency of their tests.  In the UK it's the done thing to say (as a provider) that you get tested every month.  I've never met a provider who does that.

My clinic told me only porn stars doing bareback need to get tested every month and that I'd be fine testing every three months which is what I do.

Also, you can't compare a lady who sees two or three clients a week with a lady who sees many in a day.  It would seem logical for the latter to be tested more often than the former.

I don't doubt those that said they do not get tested, but I think you'll find that those that claim they get tested, really don't.  STD testing is kinda like voting, charity giving and job resumes.  Lots of people say they do it, few actually do it.  But it makes for good "holier" than thou conversation.

In the US, this is what Planned Parenthood, Women's Clinics and public health centers are for. Sure it can be a bit of a process, but it's well worth the time effort and cost. It's far more for my benefit than the hobbyists.

A full screening runs about $160 at PP.

Testing is every 3mos for me. Some STD's can do severe damage to a women's future if they are left unchecked.

And while I do not do anything truly risky, even a kiss with the wrong person can have infectious potential.

Better to know than not..

IMHO

Money is no object for testing. I get tested for free at a walk-in place, about once a year (never had a positive on anything). It's not as convenient, but the price is right.

I never thought providers ever got tested, actually. I've never asked, but I've always assumed they never get tested. I suspect MOST of the are lying if they say they get tested. I suspect most just tell guys they get tested for business reasons (i.e., to make guys feel safer to make sure they come back).

Personally, I make it very well known that I get tested EVERY SIX WEEKS for the whole gammut.  HIV AND STD'S.

I love what I do, but I won't die for any job.  As for the insurance excuse, you can get screened at any clinic for these things for FREE.

I use protection but i do bbbj and I ain't takin a chance on anything going wrong.

I wanna live to spoil my grandbabies.

This really do sound crazy that some ladies don't test themselves AT ALL!!?? I am sure it happens, but I just can't see why they don't do it. Don't they want to know if something was caught? Even with a condom you can get for example chlamydia, rare, but it does happen.

And it is so inexpensive to do it. At Planned Parenthood they do the whole screening for about $165. I just did mine again this week. Better to be safe than sorry. Better to be proactive than taking any consequences. Every 3 months it should be done without failing.

Just my .02 cents

unless you have a generally pessimistic view on people in general, then why would you assume that providers never get tested? while i'm sure that there are many who lie about it, 2 or 3 quick questions (where were you tested? how long did it take for the results to get back?) relating to the subject can easily weed out the liars from those who are sincere.

personally i have a full STD/STI screening every 3 months, at a local health clinic which specializes in such things. cash only and you can remain anonymous, so no paper trail or insurance issues to worry about. actually most of the tests are free, you simply have to pay for the HPV and syphillis...a whopping 56 bucks total. to explain my frequent visits, i simply said i was a swinger. it helps that most of the time my Husband goes in with me and is tested as well, mostly to keep me company.

if i engaged in riskier behavior or if i saw people more frequently, i'd get tested more often, but right now i think every 3 months is perfect.

When I think about whats at stake forthe providers, i believe the professional ladies all get tested  based on the amount of their activity.. lets face it,  there is a livlihood at stake in many cases, can you imagine some hobbyist posting that he caught this or that form someone??  jese, instant  "out of business'..not to even mention the health part of it.. I'm with the previous post, you are at more risk with a civvie whose mind set is " not me"  many times..
just my .02

Even we use condom all the times but both boys and girls can be scared including your gf or bf since no one can tell if she/he is safe.

Providers can be careful about their hygiene and hobbyists would be careful about that too.  No one wish to get some terrible future after a wonderful but careless fun.

So, do your test is responsible to YOUR own life!!! Money is not a problem in this case ever!

Happy hunting and stay safe.

BTW, I do my test once a month or ever 2 months and always go to different hospital. There is no insurance can ensure you that one hospital can always be good.

I've advocated testing for some time, but it's clear that most people don't want to do it.

There are plenty of women who turn around the argument for testing by claiming that since they do nothing unsafe, they don't need to be tested. AND, that any lady who says she gets tested must be having unsafe sex, or she wouldn't need to get tested.

Nice, eh?

I don't get tested because I'm afraid I might have caught something; I do it because it's the responsible thing to do.

Hey providers...

I've heard of a bunch of HIV and STD tests out there...oral/rapid test, PCR/DNA Test and of course the ELISA blood test.

What kind of HIV and STD tests do you take?  Any preferences?  And how often do you take your tests?
