Members who are interested in that issue will have an easier time to look for answers or continue the discussion.  I do wonder whether it is worthwhile to provide links to previous discussions about that in the new board.

Why hasn't there been a link posted from the main discussion board page yet?

It may be a good idea to post those links for better/easier searching on specific topics.
