Hotels have always kept logs on their guests...we write everything down...aren't above going through guest's trash. Wow!

This article is just another reason I feel more comfortable seeing people in my home.

for them to be so open and brazen about it...ugh...I dont know. Finding things out about your clients to make their stay more comfortable is one thing, but doing it so they find out you snooped on them is very, very troubling to me. Whatever happened to ASKING your client what they preferred instead of going through their trash?

Seeing clients in your personal HOME, is dangerous..end of story. I don't care how nosy the hotel staff is...it's still not as risky as me having every guy know where I actually live, sleep, and breathe every night. One trip to the mortgage dept. or a run of your license plate number, and he knows exactly who you are. Can't do that at a hotel. The staff might know who you are, but the client only knows what you tell him.

I am quite comfortable with clients in my home and knowing who I am.  We have mutual respect, after all, I know who THEY are. I travel with many of them so of course they already know my personal info. I would prefer a third party such as a hotel, not be keeping notes on EITHER of us.

And, ironically, the better the hotel the worse it is!  Cheap hotels don't really give a flying f*ck, and most middle of the road chains, some of which are not bad BTW, are usually lucky to get their staff to greet you with your name off the reservation  At the high end hotels, on the other hand, anything is fair game, all under the guise of better service, and of course security.  Back when I was a road warrier, I always took time to police my room before leaving.  Never wanted to risk a conscientious hotel employee sending a pair of found panties or such to my home address, with a note saying your wife left these behind, lol.  No such worries now since I am happily divorced  I still believe hotels are safer options for both parties as long as you are careful and discrete.  That means pick up behind yourself (don't leave a pile of condoms in the trash), take your own towels and toiletries so it doesn't look like there has been football team staying in a room rented as a single, be curteous and professional when interacting with staff, but don't get friendly as that invites more prying, and don't always use the same hotel.  While on the subject, my pet peeve is the ones that now use key-card elevators.  A major deterrent to seeing someone in my book, due to a recent experience.  But that's another story!

I would do that too lol. I hate hotels too, but still much safer than the alternative...which is why I have incalls. I find the idea of banging random men for money in the very bed I sleep in every night, to be rather gross. I know many men would feel the same, which is why they don't bring providers to their house where the wife sleeps. It takes ONE psycho, or jealous provider to out your address and thinking otherwise is very naive. You can't really screen crazy.

1.  The hotels referenced in the article are very high end hotels and/or resorts.  The 3 and 4 star hotels that I stay in have neither the manpower nor the inclination to learn more about me, unless they see something that concerns them (a lack of discretion).  They simply aren't that interested in catering to my every need the way that the referenced 5 star resorts are.

2.  Having said that, the hotels I stay in DO know a lot about the 'real' me given that I participate in rewards programs, but what they have is my 'real' business name and address, and my 'real' business website that they can look at all they want.  I'm happy to tell the front desk clerk all about my 'real' business, and in fact, I have several times.  

3.  I totally agree with London - there is no way in hell that providing from home is safe, no matter how well you screen.

A half dozen condom wrappers in the trash three days in a row might be suspicious.  "Likes to get laid" probably wouldn't explain that.

Exactly. If I am in a hotel for even as long as 4 days, I am not seeing 10 guys. It's not hard to take all the condoms and wrappers, put them in a food bag, and toss them in the PUBLIC garbage outside when you're leaving. They can't tell which room tossed what. Also, using a different hotel each time is not exactly genius...it's common sense. If I visit a city and stay at the Hyatt, next time I am using another hotel chain.

I could see for women having to do outcalls over and over to the same hotels, but I don't do that either. They check the trash for cigarettes, cash, or drugs in most cases. They want to be able to charge you that 250 if you're smoking in a non-smoking room. I know several managers of hotels...from high end to bottom of the list. They train housekeeping to look for certain things, but keep in mind they still want your business.

Other than 2 sugar daddies whom I have known for years, no one has ever been to my personal home. I don't mix my private life with an illegal business.

Yea, resorts are a bitch. I have time shares that I "use to" host in, but no more. Unless it is just ONE guy for my entire stay, much too risky with all the security they have to go through just to get in. You have to sign in and tell them the name of the person you are visiting, and the condo number. Then, you have to put a parking tag on your vehicle to get in the gate. Way too risky. I probably use he same hotels as you Natasha...usually the 3.5 to 4 stars with no elevator key, but that is ONLY when I travel. I try to avoid them at all costs, because they are just too annoying.

I would never invite a provider to my home either.  Even though I have been divorced for a few years, my home is my sanctuary.  Hell, even if I have a civvie date, I prefer to go the her place these days.  I pay providers so that I can enjoy a no strings liason.  Of course I want to make a connection and enjoy more than just the sexual aspect of a date, but don't want the lines blurred.  That is more difficult when you are among someone's personal things.  Plus, all it take is one crazy person with your home address, or one who gets jammed up with LE, for it to blow up in your face!  So not worth it, for what - convenience?  Plus none to the neighbor's effin' business either, lol.  If she wants to invite me to her place for incall, that's her choice.  To each his/her own.  After all, I'm verified on notawhacko dot com, lol!

Every Credit bureau and every other company selling information to make money. You buy a car, your information is out there, you buy furniture on an installment plan such 12 months no interest, etc.

If you don’t believe, just Google your own telephone number. You say, it is unlisted, not so says Google. The only way you can be anonymous is by laying low and by becoming uninteresting so, no body gives a rats ass.

If you like your name out there to get attention then, be prepared to loose your privacy.

Suppose, most don’t know this!

Top of the line hotels and hotel chains, where the staff to guest ratio is much greater than 1:1 and room rates start at $500/night and go way up from there, do this and do it well. They have been doing it forever, and the article's point about trying to find the right line between intimacy and obtrusiveness is their main issue.

Below that point, and that is where almost all of us are meeting, the focus is mostly on controlling costs and providing nice enough facilities, unless you are one of their top guests, which probably means you spend 50 nights a year or more with them. Of course, hotel security is spying on you while you are in the common areas, because they have to do that, but beyond that they do not know or care who you are because they have other things to do.

There are pros and cons to meeting at a private residence versus a hotel, sure. But in the end they are both okay so long as you are sufficiently discreet and careful, unless you have terribly bad luck.

Anyway, this article is not talking about anything that remotely applies to most of our incall/outcall arrangements, believe me.

As to hotels!?  some of my stripper friends dress QUITE provocatively when we get together.  We get stares!  One lady in  particular - has an incredible body, absolutely georgous face with long dark hair.  Last time we got together she wore a skin tight outfit.  I know the hotel staff noted us.  but heck, for me, that is part of the excitement, and as my name is on the register, she is not at risk.

ME?? I worry more about drinking out of the glasses in the r oom... ever see the documentaries about how they clean those glasses?!?? yuch.

my hotel room, I would take out the incriminating trash such as condom wrappers, used candles, etc. and dispose of them in a trash can near an elevator when I went to the fitness room in the am.

things so they had to come back. It was an inconvenience, but they got that free extra face time.
& then whn your incall (home) gets outed by someone who talks too much during pillow talk, it's stressful b/c u have to up & move.

I'd never do that again. you and London are right about that. & someone might seem normal today, but tomorrow they're crazy & know where u live.

Hotels are in business to sell room nights.  Keep a low profile, don't cause any problems and you won't have any problems.  

Regarding the comment another poster made about six condom wrappers a day in the waste basket being a bad idea I would tend to agree.  Any provider who is that high volume should be changing hotels every day or so...

Always be extra generous to the service staff. $$$
Always dress in casual business attire
Flush things that do not need tone seen
Throw your own trash out
Keep all the goodies where they may not be seen
Avoid elevator key cards
Offer extended dinner date packages vs. high volume clientele
Avoid using the hotels Internet access


Those are some of the most important. Personally this year I'm planning to book corporate suites or vacation homes. It's much more personable, comfortable,and I need to be in the touring destinations longer with upcoming shoots.

I have at this time, 4 DLs all with different addresses. Pretend you lost your old one and that you moved, so you can use a different city and street name on the new one. You don't have to "prove" you've moved to a new city...just a new state. Use the fake address DL and fake phone number when booking and staying in hotels, so even though they may have your name, they don't know where you live at that point in time. I don't think it is ever a good idea for a married man to rent a room, which is why I take care of that. I am not married and have a legit business, that I "travel to work for."

Everyone collects data on you. every time you swipe your card and purchase something you build your profile from the kind of food you buy, the things you get at Home Depot, How often you rent hotel rooms etc. It's called Marketing.
