I would think by definition most hobbyist are sex addicts (although there have been some articles written that there is no such thing...google Tiger Woods LOL). So I was wondering how many guys think they are sex addicts.

Let's examine this one rationally folks.

I eat every single day, remain within 20 pounds of my high school weight, and don't consider myself a food addict. I have sex with women who make themselves available and who I find desirable every now and then, and feel no sense of addiction.

I lived in a sexless marriage for a while and only survived by jerking off.  I don't need sex constantly and there are a few guys I know whose needs are far greater.  But my need for sex, especially with a wide variety of women, is pretty much constant.
I really don't think there's a damn thing wrong with that, either.  All in all, I'm a pretty happy guy. Lucky, too.

I've met many men who thought they were, however, but only because they think about it so much due to being in a sexless relationship. Once they do have it though, they are calm for a while, until they need it again months later, I don't think this qualifies as an addiction, should it? If they just had a consistent schedule they would be well-adjusted, but the fact that they don't snowballs into a perceived addiction.

it sounds like your ex and I have a few things in common, perhaps more than you think. But yes, an artist is part of you from birth, and taken thru school as far as you want to take it. For me I took it as far as my BFA...but for me that was as far as I felt the 'need' to go. I was ready to dive into life at a very young age. However, she and I differ in that I took it in the other direction of the arts so that I could make a true career out of it and not the worry of the 'starving artist' piece. The 'gallery' piece is a tough market, not sure how many do it but I commend them in following their passion in that realm. That takes some serious ass patience and persistence. I needed the true 'corporate' piece in that I like 'business' and making money (obviously) and intertwining that with my talent. I get bored very quickly with most things in life, so I like doing many different things in many different mediums (wink wink)

to 'play' with a 5 yo...you have to also think and act like a 5yo yourself (if you know anything about children). Which yes of course is fun at times and a nice break from 'reality'...however, to do it consistently much like the going's on here can be a bit much and a lil over-redundant sometimes, don't ya think? It would be nice to be able to 'mix it up'...is all I'm saying.

I know many artists and none of them are able to do what you say you do.  They are painters (or sculptors) first, last and always.  They could no more exist in the corporate world than I could exist under water.  The fact that you are able to do it is highly unusual.
I don't pretend to totally "get" artists.  When my ex and her friends (male and female) talk about their process it's like listening to someone speak a foreign language.
But from direct personal experience I do know a bit about the artistic process, especially how fragile it can be.  By the way, along with chasing chicas down here I am actually working on an artistic "project" but can't say anything more about that.
As for continuing to write you, it all depends on what you yourself put on the boards.  If it's thoughtful, considered posts, I'll respond in kind.  And kindly.  If it's "the other Taylor" she'll probably hear from me, too. LOL!
