We all choose our own names ... and there is a reason and meaning behind it ... curious minds want to know what you "name" means and why you chose it.  

Most of us ladies, it's the name we go by... Or in my case it's a different name I am known by...

I picked my name from the name I went by as a gal for an agency... I feel it also fits my hazel eyes of what a gal like "Amber" would look like.

I'm a guy, I live in Boston and I was born in 1957. I'm obviously not all that clever...

I own a mustang convertible.

My handle is my old CB handle from the '70's. when my parents bought one of these so I could f around with one of my cousins back in the day.  Fast forward 30+ years, the handle works, and gets buried under a sea of Pink Floyd references if you Google it.  Just the way I want that, yet, it is distinct here.  

My initials are R. D. H. and I'm a 3rd hence RDHIII.

Back when I first go on the web, i tried to use the nickname Demonknight (tales from the crypt movie) on iRC and the server cut off the ht and it came out Demonknig.  A few people accused me of being racist and other thought I misspelled DemonKing.  I was like, "Oh...that works" and used it.


At least it wasn't Ilikepoopbiscuits.

John Galt is the central character in the novel Atlas Shrugged. This novel describes a time in which government-enforced altruism reaches a point where the most productive members of society, led by John Galt, finally reach a point where they withdraw their productivity from the world; and just let it go to hell in a hand basket.

Galt is an engineer, and I can relate to this as (among other things) I'm an engineer too.

While I disagree with Rand (and her chosen heir, Peikoff) in a number of areas; I appreciate the way she fleshed out the way in which ideas are powerful and shape our lives; the field of psycho-epistemology, and I further appreciate the underlying Nietzschean concepts of the heroic potential of Man.

Galt, in the novel, advocates and employs reasoned thoughtfulness in not just strategy, but even choice of bed-mates. Nothing is left to the worship of whims.

While many aspects of her philosophy (called Objectivism) produce near joylessness in some of its adherents when taken to logical extremes -- one reason I have areas of disagreement with her -- she was nevertheless very successful at bringing philosophy into the mainstream as an important subject worthy of study in and of itself.

As I had just joined TER and was looking for a handle, I figured:  "Why not?"

That was four years ago to the day on last August 19.

I was a lurker for 2 months and knew everyone was from different parts of the country when I picked my name. I wanted all my new friends to know where I was located. Sometimes I wish I picked a very sexy sensual name but after 2 years your member name is just about who you are here.

In hindsight the handle GaGambler makes people think of an old fat white guy with a cigar stuck in his mouth, but oh well, too late now.

I started with a name similar to my "real" name and when I got my feet a little wet, realized I needed to be more discreet.  I think my new names says it all...  lol

My "work" name is Cindy which was picked together with the woman who ran the first agency I worked for... She had several blond girls who had names that started  with "c" or "k"... "Crystal," "Katie," "Christy" etc... If I remember correctly "Cindy" was after Cindy BRADY and was a bit of a joke about my wholesomeness! Ha.

Goldielocks- because I have long blond hair and I'm Obcessive Compulsive, you know- this bed is too hard, this bed is too soft, this bed is JUST right... you get the picture... Ha!

When I was a little kid I had a record (Yes, I said a RECORD- it was the 80's... good grief!) and it was the story of Goldielocks.  At one point the narator talked about how "GOOD little girls don't go WALKING IN THE FOREST..!!"

And I still mutter that expression under my breath if I or some other person I know is doing something that society frowns upon.. you know, dancing to the beat of their own drummer, pushing the envelope, thumbing their nose at tradition..!

hmmmm, it seems very difficult for me to try to explain my handle. But, I'll try.

While growing up as a young man, I got very interested in watching legs go by. Even walked into lamp posts afew times, that I can remember. As I watched older ladies walking by me at the time. Can you imagine, what the mini and micro mini skirts and Hot Pants did to me? I was in heaven. (did that make me a perv at a very young age?)

Now, that I am alittle older, I really appreciate all those legs out there. I love to carress, kiss and massage those legs out there.

I was given the nickname Paris, when I was about 12 yrs old...in which, I go by it in both my personal and business life. I've always had a keen interest in fashion and modeling in Europe and that's where my name, Paris, originated.

Bouvier, which isn't part of my handle, but is the last name on my website....was derived from none other than Ms. Jacqueline Lee Bouvier Kennedy Onassis----classy lady!

Dumbjock is an ironic comment on my life.  Although I am a well educated and credentialed professional, I look like I should be in the UFC.

The first impression some have had of me was that of a dumb jock.
