I've seen some really hot ones working the front desk. But considering the amount of paranoia from most of the guys here I suspect they are afraid of their own shadows as well.

I have stayed literally hundreds of hotels all over the world never has happened.
This is self conscious problem. No one give a shit about you if behave and act normal. If you act nervous and weird and shit then, there is reason for them to watch you. You may be getting ready to shoot up the place
From time to time there are hotels running stings with local LE. When that is the case, they will already be watching the provider's room, probably using the surveillance cameras in the hall and the elevator. If you end up in that situation, you are fucked, and a confrontation with LE will surely ensue. Keep your mouth shut, get a lawyer and hope for the best.
This is an extraordinary situation, but it does happen. I think it happens mostly in smaller towns, not big cities, and the lady needs to be pretty obvious (and probably one in a line of ladies who were being pretty obvious) but it can happen. The odds are probably higher that you will be hit by lightning.
If someone in the lobby makes you and the provider out as what you are, which is unlikely to start, the odds are that they will still do nothing. But if they choose to do something, most likely security will knock on her door sometime later and ask her to leave.
Unless you have your dick hanging out of your pants, are panting, maybe even foaming a little bit, no one in the lobby is looking funny at you, and no one gives a damn. They just want to get through their shift without any crap.
But to feed the self conscious and truly paranoid - keep in mind that most hotels have cameras. They can see the traffic in and out of the lady's room. Make sure you smile and wave! But keep in mind the cameras are there to prevent crimes against guests, and cover their asses when crimes occur. Our hobby is usually not of any interest.
Very long short story . Lobby Security in Reston ritzy building stopped me as I was about to enter the elevator , asked where I was going . I had never been there before . With venom in my eyes I told him "I am visiting my ex GF , would you like me to tell her you are interested" ? I was surprised he stepped aside without asking what floor or room . I hope he saw me walk in her incall on camera and back out a minute later . If he saw her follow me into the hallway , totally naked , while screaming my name , I bet he kept the video . I wouldn't . There's a vivid copy in my mind .

I was at the door waiting for her to open it. 3 cleaning people come right up to me. "Is that your room?" One asks. "Why?" I say. Stupid answer I know... "Because I want to clean it!" Now this lady is getting loud with me, and drawing unwanted attention. "Yea it's my room." Another bad lie. I had no key card, and I just knocked on the door! I just barked at her. "Go away!" "Come back in an hour." LMAO! They scurried off thinking they offended a customer. No prob. I was shitting in my pants though. Next time I'll just say I'm meeting a friend.
...is to be as warm and personable as possible. smile confidently, and say "hello, how are you doing?" DON'T ACT CONSPICUOUS! averting your eyes and scurrying off to the elevator or the room is just silly. act like you belong there. radiate confidence. it helps!
believe me -- hotel staff are not stupid -- at least 75% of the time, they know exactly what is going on. i have discovered that a little bit of warmth and kindness goes a LONG way. i do not try to be forgettable, i try to be pleasantly memorable. i am always kind, warm, and open when dealing with any hotel staff. i joke around with them, ask them how their day is going, compliment them if i can find something to compliment, and i always tip the housekeeping & doormen. if you're kind, considerate, friendly, and don't make a scene, 999 times out of 1,000 there will not be a problem.
but you're right -- there generally will be no consequences, even if you get some askance looks. and i think perhaps a lot of times what is being interpreted as the "evil eye" is just them looking, there's not necessarily anything behind it.
when it's a smaller hotel, I'm arriving at 3 pm when they only have a few guests checked in, and the only thing in the lobby is the registration desk and desk clerk, the elevators and me...I just try to look like I belong there and go straight to the elevators...hoping all the while the elevators are easy to find...not sure what I'd say if approached by anyone...probably just visiting my sister on whatever floor I was heading to.
I am hardly an imposing figure, but maybe I just give off the aura of "don't fuck with me" because I guarantee you if hotel security EVER fucked with me over visiting someone in a hotel, I would raise such a scene that either I would be kicked out or the guy would be fired. The guiltier I was, the bigger fuss I would make. lol
Security, like other hotel employees, are there for our benefit and safety, not to fuck with us. While I treat all people with respect, and don't "look down" on people doing their job, I never forget that they are there to aid and assist me, not give me the third degree. Maybe it's the fact that I spend so much time in hotels, like AF I have been in hundreds of hotels in dozens of countries, and NEVER has security or any hotel staff given me the slightest bit of grief.
One of the things I haven't decide to try an out-call in Boston is: 1) I live in the suburbs so I'd look really suspicious to book a room and have to show my drivers license; I'm sure I'd get that evil eye from a female receptionist or a slight grin form a male receptionist.
I just checked my US passport and it does not have address! Well, that's a photo ID, right? Have anyone had issues with a passport, instead of a drivers' license
Or in-laws are in town visiting and are staying at your house, & you need to escape. If it's hot outside...the AC in your house is on the fritz. Or your water heater went out & you're staying at a hotel until it gets fixed... there are a ton of excuses if they even ask. Most don't.
I do it simply because it's easier that pulling my DL out of my wallet, but I've never had an issue.
Quit worrying about what the hotel staff thinks about you, people check into hotels to fuck their mistresses all the time, it's not a crime. Except to your wife of course.
I've got an ex hooker GF/fuckbuddy that I see all the time in Atlanta who is almost exactly 30 years younger than me. We check into hotels together all the time, never once has a hotel employee had the balls to say anything out loud. I will admit I do get that "slight grin" from many of the male receptionists.
BTW lot's of times we leave our bags in the car and go upstairs without luggage, which means it's prety obvious we are going up simply to fuck. I still have never had hotel staff say a single word to me, nor do I expect them to ever do so.
I have been pushed out by hotel concierge like once or twice. It was in a hotel that was in a "hot area" with active LE. It was when I first started escorting in 2007. If you are low volume and in an escort-friendly area, you should be fine.
