It will only encourage a bunch of mindless clicks and idiots sitting at their computer clicking from board to board. This is not high school or facebook. This is an adult oriented website, not a child's site.

To the "report this post" feature. WTF. Every whiner and chronic complainer will be hitting that button every time they don't hit the "like" button. And who would have to look at those RTP all day and all night?

That's my opinion for Saturday night. If you can't find the RTP button, too bad.

Don't worry. It will just be a matter of time before whoever has to look at the RTP gets the shits of all of the whiners and starts ignoring them.

By now most, if not all, are aware of the changes coming in the Atlanta and Florida boards. DirtyDaego has been replaced by TER staff and soon they will have "Cruise Directors", one hobbyist and one provider, that will volunteer for one month and will welcome new members and try to breath life into the board. These "Cruise Directors" will be getting there own board but will not get to peak behind the curtain or have mod powers. Links on the these topics:

My intent is not to rehash these changes that are happening there as we all know about it. And those that don't, that is why I put up the links above. It is clear if it works it will spread to other boards and maybe even to this one. Personally I am in a wait and see mode as to how it all works. I have no issue with the "Cruise Directors" idea but have stated my concerns about TER staff doing the moderating. I will not get into it though as this too is not the point of my thread. The like DiscussionBoardAdmin in a reply to my concerns talked of some other changes that may be coming and I want to draw everyone's attention to them as I think they are a good idea. In her response to me DiscussionBoardAdmin said " We will be adding a "report this post" link that will help the CD and everyone else make sure that the board is ruined by someone." I am hoping she meant "is NOT ruined by some one." But I do think a "report this post button" is a good idea.

Later in response to DiscussionBoardAdmin talking about a "report this post button" Advisor2008 asked, "As long as you are adding fields, can you put a Like and Dislike option on post?" to which DiscussionBoardAdmin said, "Ok on both ... eom" I also think this is a good idea.

I haven't heard much discussion on these likely changes so I bringing it up here. What do you think? Are these new buttons a good idea or a bad one? I like them as I have said. Feel free to post your feelings on the other changes that may come as well, but I think most have said there piece. On that change I am basically in a wait and see mode. I have my concerns but they may not be justified so I have voiced then and will say no more.

I am not happy about the way they dismissed DirtyDaego though, for the record. I hope they handle telling the mods better when and if the changes spread with the other boards. They have done a good job for the most part.

Old news is old. And TER is not giving the cruise directors any MOD powers (e.g. no ability to see behind aliases, etc.).

If one guy is always hitting the"report" button, I suspect he will be ignored.  However, if a large number of board members find a post annoying or offensive, it would be an easy was to let admin know without taking the time and effort to feed a troll.

First, I said that the "cruise directors" would not have mod powers plainly in my post twice. Second my post was only in part about the big well know "old news" changes like TER staff moderating and "cruise directors". (how can news that hasn't fully happened yet be old, by the way?) My post was mostly on the new buttons that may be coming, the like, dislike and "report this post button", that I think may have been missed with the bigger changes in the site. After all they where buried deep in a thread on only one board.

There has been little discussion on these buttons. I was just trying to point them out and get a feel how others felt about them. Who knows maybe know one cares, but I do. I like this site and these changes will likely affect my enjoyment of this site.

Please read the post before spouting off. Thank you.

I never said that you personally didn't know that cruise directors would not have mod powers. I was simply re-iterating that point (along with the fact that the majority of what you posted was in fact "old news").

What a picture on my 24" monitor. The "report this post button" is on every other website forum I belong to as well as the old CL and BP. It's a great feature but only as good as the person on duty who checks them. If they have someone doing it 24 hours a day I think it would stop many of the nasty threads from ever getting started. I must admit the general board seems a heck of a lot better all ready and there isn't any new moderator here.

I would likely be sharing a cell with you in the moderated prison. So I didn't say what I wanted to. The angry emoticon is the best I could do. It is irritating when a ______ ____ (if I put what I want in those blanks I could get moderated) acts like he knows what he is talking about when he clearly didn't even read the post. Then goes and tries to change what he said when he gets called on it. Ugh!!!! Fudge.

Scoed performed a value added on the "old news" by summarizing it and bringing to light certain facets, emhasizing points, and makeing personal observations. Your cavalier disimissal of his work in service to the board summarizing his views reflects poorly on you. It looks like you did not read his post or were too dull and incomprehending to glean that it wasn't merely "old news".

While I disagree with some of scoed's points. I think it more important to remark on your lack of discernment and comprehension. As far as I can tell this post of scoed's is a more positive contribution to the board (even if I disagree with some of it) than your entire contribution of posts.

Please consider an adult remedial reading comprehension course or perhaps remodel your personality.

sounds like moderator wanabee stuff.  why would you report a post?  can you give me an example?  I never posted anywhere else on the internet, but the intriguing thing here is the freedom of speech and the otherwise forbidden subject matter.

btw, must of this thread has been bashing this goofy new knowitall guy.  i don't find his posts that much more silly, repetitive, self-agrandizing, attention getting than any of the rest of the goofballs around here.  in a couple of weeks he'll be gone or the boardhorde will be smooching with him.

What TER needs to add to the new formate is a block button.  The function and use of that button would stop the person being blocked from seeing your posts including provider ad's, provider profiles, provider reviews, and they would also be omitted from any search results.  It would also prevent the person doing the blocking from seeing the same concerning the person being blocked.

When the buttons function is initiated a dialogs box should appear asking for the reason you are blocking that person with check boxes:

Dislike
Abuse

If the abuse block is checked TER might want to flag and monitor the blocked person further as abuse should only be check if an blocked person is perceived to be violating the terms of service.  Since the terms of service are so badly written and confusing as a result checking the abuse block would really a subjective judgement on the part of the person initiating the blocking action and should not necessary require any further action by TER monitors.

In any event the blocked person would cease to exist in your TER world and if a blocked person continued to be blocked by others using the TER, in time they would be ranting and raving to themselves while they jerked themselves off which I imagine would be something like being in hell.

I'm actually blacklist proof because I have "diplomatic hobby immunity",

I have never posted any information about ANY member or provider who is a member of this board. What this gentleman whose facts are confused was a post that originated by another provider who reported that she had been contacted by a SPAMER who offered to write very positive reviews for her for $69 per review and would give additional discounts if she wanted to order multiple reviews.  This lady posted the email address the the post originated from.  Here is the link to the original thread:

http://www.theeroticreview.com/discussion_boards/viewmsg.asp?MessageID=148931&boardID=16&page=1#148931

Since that post Admin removed the email address of this SPAMER but when I first saw it I was so offended that some SPAMER was trying to undermine the integrity and primary reason that makes TER so profitable to the owners of TER, to us providers, and so beneficial to the gentlemen who use this site to select dated that I screened the SPAMERS email address and found out who he was.  I posted the information the information that I found so TER could take action and to inform all about this individual.  He was not a member of this site because his email address could not be searched in the review section of TER.  This has been confirmed by Admin in the above thread.

Concerning posting of personal information, if you read the TER Guidelines for Posting Messages on TER Discussion Boards you will find that it says concerning posting personal information:

PERSONEL INFORMATION

" Posting personal information of members or provider, including content copied from their emails and Private Messages, is grounds for BANISHMENT "

Here is a direct link to these guidelines:

http://www.theeroticreview.com/discussion_boards/viewmsg.asp?boardID=33&Messageid=75538

Just so you know, I researched this information BEFORE I the personal information I was able to screen concerning this SPAMER.

I would NEVER post any such information concerning a member of this board because that would be justifiable grounds for
BANISHMENT and would violate provider / client trust.

Just so you know I was contacted by TER Admin concerning my posting this SPAMERS info and asked to not post such info publicly again which I agreed.  They moved my post to the Admins board and didn't delete it because I guess the information that I posted was useful to them.  I imagine that they have other concerns that I am not privy.

I do suggest that TER update their posting guidelines to so that everyone who is a member of this board will know the approved way to handle such situations in the future.

In the meantime, I do advise EVERYONE to contact TER Admin directly with any such information so that they can take action right away.

I think they're a bad idea. Years ago, when AOL was the big thing they had their volunteer "moderators" and it was so uneven and subject to abuse it was ridiculous. You get people with their own aganda who don't like what someone else might have to say so they report it as offensive or whatever. The person dutied with the power to pull the posts also faces a moral hazard of furthering their own POV or agenda. I don't think it works well
