Cars can be fixed or repaired, not as easy with a person though.

Lot's of ways that a fast car can screw one up.  For example, I knew of someone racing a guy whose car was a lot faster than his.  After the guy put the hammer down the other guy figured his car had stopped and got out to see what the problem was.

True story!

Been awhile since I've posted a message and here's why.  Went to work doing what I do, in Germany.  I knew I'd be there for at least a year so I shipped over my new Vette to piss of the Porsche and Ferrari guys (900HP twin turbo).  Decided to visit a gal that I heard was the best blow job in Germany (is there an offical judge?!) so off I went to spend a couple hours with her.  

Result?  DAMN great BBBJCIM and amazing prostate massage.  Amazing.  Two times in two hours plus a lot of fun feeling around, etc.   Hot looking babe too....

On way back to my apartment I decided to air out the car a little and see if the new tune felt better (I can get 96 octane and mods were done with 490 miles and I had driven it less than 500 miles after the mods)

So I'm zipping along at about 150 and amazed at how much power is left.  Was I thinking about that great load I pushed down her throat about 1 hour earlier?  Hmmm...sorta, maybe, a little.   I'm in the fast lane and..............

Next thing I know, I'm in an ambulance and I think I'm dying.  I hurt everywhere - and I mean everywhere.  The oxygen mask smells funny but the pain is.....ugh.   I realized my chest hurt and when I breathed in and out things didn't work right.   I'm scared...and confused.

Long story ..short:
1)  A driver came over two lanes behind me, misjudged how fast he was going and hit me a glancing blow in the rear.   He also hit another car on the rebound, that driver was hurt much worse than me and is still in rehab.
2)  He had a blood alcohol of .04...not legally drunk but he's going to jail
3)  My Vette is gone, but it saved my life.  The airbags, my 5 point harness and rollbar did what it was supposed to do.   What's left of it is impounded by police as they'll be prosecuting the guilty driver.

So a double BBBJCIM ended in my almost being blown off the earth.   This happened a 3 months ago and I'm back in the U.S. - another Vette in my future and glad to be alive.

I think I'm done the hobbying deal...found a lady I think who likes me.  Of course she's blind and deaf.

It's what I do. My one quilty pleasure in life is performance/muscle cars. I've had Camaro's, 'Cuda's, Shelby's, Torino's, Chevette's, etc.........I get bored after a while for SOMETHING ELSE! Some men thrive different women. I thrive a great muscle car hunt! Before anyone mentions it........I've NEVER had a Vette! Don't care for them.

What kind of car was the guy passing you driving?  I bet it was a 1999 Hyundai Sonata GLS V6 — that's what I got and it a real sweet ride.  I haven't let her go on the Autobahn yet, because that for wrecking cars or showing off.  But after the first 120,000 miles I got a brand new timing belt.  Yeah, its pretty nice.  I can't wait for my next timing belt.

He hung with me up to about 145, then I shifted out of fifth gear and blew him away in my cheap little old Cadillac. lol

M3 is too small a car for me, I almost bought an M6, but fell in love with the Caddy.

I like the looks of the Panamera, the V-6 is only around $80, but if you step up to the supercharged model that puts out over 500hp, you're up in the $160K range. I don't know if I want to spend that much, and I'm not buying a fucking 300hp V6, I'll buy a minivan first. lmao

I don't really like the Quattroporte as a performance car, It's really a luxury car with a little get up an go.

Now I do remember seeing that Maserati has come out with a new convertible. It wouldn't have to be super fast if the everything were up to Maserati standards.

First of all, I'm glad to hear you're OK.  You're lucky to be alive and fortunate that you can't remember everything that happened to you.  I've been upside down a couple of times and it's no fun.  But, please don't connect your hobbying to what happened.  It could have happened at any time on the Autobahn.  Drunks are everywhere.  Yes, the fact that you were doing 150 meant the forces were huge but you don't have to be going that fast to get killed by a drunken idiot.  Glad you're getting a new Vette, but don't be afraid to get ouy there an hobby, too!

If longevity is a consideration, the car will eventually kill you faster than the hobby. But if that's how you wanna go...

Knowing your love of speed, your story doesn't really surprise me.  Like Mikey, I was wondering just the other day where you'd gone off to.  To those of you that think he's giving up the wrong hobby, you need to learn to love fast cars.  Fast women are easy to find.  True speed behind the wheel of an exquisite machine is a mind altering experience.

If I get to choose how I leave this world for the great beyond, I'd pick CG's experience with a couple exceptions.  It would be a nicer car (sorry buddy) and a lot higher speed careening off a brick wall.

My only quibble is, why choose?  My love of speed is second to none...except for my love of pussy.  It's a dead heat.  If I had to choose...that's like Sophie's Choice, I'll give up one of my kids in a heart-beat.

Until Alfa returns to the US you won't find anything decent from Italy for under $100K, and maybe not even then.  Also, did you see Top Grear shit all over the Alfa 8C?  (But what a great-sounding motor!) That  leaves the Krauts; not a bad thing, considering you can go for the M3 or wait a few more months for the Audi RS5. I've got an S5 and it's damn fast, though I wouldn't want to get into a drag race with an M3.
PS:  As an alternative to your "moment of impact scenario," I plan to live 'til I'm too old to drive, then have a cerebral aneurism pop when I get a nut while getting a BBBJ from my nurse.
