TOR was always getting "stuck" for me -- I switched to a VPN. There are several that have free options if you just use one computer. hide.me is one of them -- then you can use any browser while you are connected to the hide.me VPN
Several site seem to get stuck st the captha verification point when using TOR (via iOS onion browser). Any way around that in the setting?, thx.

"Free" VPN's. They make their operating revenue by tracking your activity with cookies and then selling the info just like free browsers do. Pay VPN's run $7-10 a month and protect your privacy. I suggest you read the privacy statement before signing up for any "free" VPN's. You will see there are many "limitations" as opposed to VPN's charging modest user fees to support operations.
And worse than that, because they're tracking your browsing they open you up to significant liability. They're a centralized source for LE to capture a huge amount of user data. Probably not immediately incriminating, but it'll give them a very good idea of who to watch closely.
All a 'free' VPN does is make your browsing experience slower. It's not private, it's not secure, and if anything, it's less safe.
I might suggest Nord vpn super duper fast and easy.
I haven't tried it from my mobile (Android) lately, but it works fine from my laptop.
I've been using NordVPN for a couple of years and they have Onion over VPN servers that don't require installing the TOR browser. I haven't given that feature a try, so I don't know how well that works as compared to running the standard TOR over VPN.
Use OPERA browser that looks and feels like chrome and has VPN built in.
Here is a video on youtube on how to set it up.

At least thats what my imstalled version said today. It worked fine for a few weeks then... dead.
They're doing you a favor. Any free VPN is going to be trash at best, and at worst it's an LE Claptrap.
Pony up the 8 bucks a month and buy Nord VPN, which is actually private and actually secure.
Tried the Opera VPN Android phone app just now and got a notification that it's gone away (hey offered me a discounted membership for SurfEasy VPN). But then I fired up my laptop and opened the Opera browser, which has built-in VPN capability, and it's working fine. In fact, that's what I'm using to write this post. Don't know if the web browser VPN will also be shut down, but it's still up and working at the moment.
Here's a recent article with recommendations and reviews for both free and paid VPN phone apps. I have Android so all of these are for that OS. I'm guessing most probably have an iOS version but you'd have to check to make sure.
Currently having success using Hide.me VPN, free version. They offer paid upgrades for more data, multiple devices and additional server locations. They claim no logging but that would obviously need to be confirmed by a neutral third party, just to be sure. Free version is working fine for me as I just set it for Canada and use to check this site and any others that are blocking US-based addresses. So far I'm getting good speed and no ads.
It's not a problem with TOR. A lot of websites block tor traffic because it happens to be a favorite tool of hackers, spammers, and in general people with malicious intent. Ironically, that proves how good it is at protecting your privacy (when used correctly).
I have avast since 2011 and like it much better than my old norton. When Bp went down I also added an a vpn. Cost only 51 dollars on yearly first time offer. If I'm not mistaken avast is out of czechslovakia. I believe vpn is the only way to go, lot less spam or ads.

AVAST is in UA, but they're considered cooperative with LE, they keep logs of IP Addresses, timestamps, etc.
The gist of it is, they're not safe for sex work related activities and you're wasting your money.
Like most people have said use NORD VPN and pay with bitcoin. It's cheap insurance.
Don't BBFS the internet in 2018, it's not worth it.
