Free advice, putting your pictures in Flash means people on iOS devices (iPhones, iPads) can't see them.  I instantly move on.

Seeing more of this recently, particularly on "elite" providers' sites.  Somebody must be selling this as a mark of quality, but it just cuts your views.

Nobody cares if the pictures fade in and out, we just want to see them.

Jailbreak your device or go with Android.

Gee, thanks!  Because I was clearly looking for tech support here.

The point was that Flash pics = missed views, not that there aren't workarounds.   Most people won't jailbreak and a lot prefer iOS.  So providers who use flash sites are missing views.  That's all, not a big deal, just noticing it more recently.

you can simply move on if you don't feel she is worth pursuing.

I get your point about the missed views from iOS users.
This topic was brought up a few times and providers have acknowledged it.

Pics are just part of the decision process.
They shouldn't be the only determinant.
Here's a link to a provider who does flash pics on purpose and her reasoning.

Most websites these days aren't using Flash, because they know that the iOS devices are taking a bigger and bigger market share.

No one wants to make a site that people can't see.

I don't get it.  A password protected photo page would be defensible on these grounds, but using Flash just makes her pictures unavailable to an arbitrary group (iOS users) not everyone.  The logic doesn't hold, unless what she's saying is that iOS users tend to be shallow!  ;)  Maybe London's an Android fangirl.

Mine are in flash for a reason, but my entire website is not. If they need 60 photos to make a decision, oh well...not all that worried about it. Also, most guys using mobile devices to view websites usually ONLY look at the pics and rates, and disregard all the important text. We end up getting stupid emails with no refs, just saying "Hey, baby, r u available 2nite?" Delete!

I think you're going to want to rethink this as non-desktops are really taking over.  You'll see in a post in this thread (still waiting to see approved) that I wonder if you're thinking is iOS-using guys are particularly only interested in pics.  It appears that is what is motivating you using Flash based on your earlier post.  That doesn't really make sense.

Anyway, mobile devices are mostly how I access the Internet, not just to find p4p.  So you either want me (let's say guy using an iPad...) to see your pics or not.  If you want me to see 'em, lose Flash.  If not, you're probably better off using a password rather tan relying on Flash, since Flash just gates non-jailbreak iOS users, as was observed here.

Please explain. I have an IPad and unfortunately I'm relatively illiterate. I've been cautioned away from a jailbreak, but I have purchased Skyfire and yet I still cannot view Flash. I think it's absolutely ridiculous now that Steve Jobs has passed that this Flash problem has not been resolved by Apple (as I understand it Steve Jobs had a personal vendetta with Flash and so like a child made his product unable to run Flash). I like my IPad in every other sense but the Flash problem so I'm not willing to trash it for the Windows version tablet. Do you know of a fix for Flash on the IPad? I'd be thrilled to get an app (even if I have to pay for it) to bridge this gap.

Thanks for your help, funny where a person might find solutions to a tablet question? In a fk board as the lovely London Rayne is so fond of calling it.

Droid and Microsoft Windows 8 also.

To put is different way, Flash is so yesterday. It is HTML5 today much better multimedia rendering.

You cannot upgrade your iOS, if you do, you will have to jailbreak, every single time. Flash is on its way out soon, no is supporting it natively any longer.

Steve did not have a vendetta but Flash did crash Safari more often than most. Flash is a non-standard multimedia format in the standards oriented land of Web multimedia. All of the OS vendors have moved on from supporting Flash natively including, Microsoft. Technical reasons are many. Let us say, HTML5 is well integrated and global standard. Even, Adobe, has stopped Flash support, in other words; what is called End-of-Life in tech land. They will fix bugs may for another 2 years or so, after that, no more.

Do not jailbreak. You are asking for trouble than it is worth.

a slide show vs. stills. I won't be changing a thing, as my business has no need. Guys go to eros and ter, then view the website, and most are not random guys surfing hooker sites from their phone whilst at work. They are married men who have WEEKS to research me before they plan for a date, and are usually traveling in from somewhere else. The text pages from what I understand are NOT in flash, or at least that is what I have been told by those viewing it. No, I will not password protect my photos, because so many guys are using laptops to see them, and it works just fine. The photos on each page can be viewed on any device, just not the actual slide show.

It is not some free escort site or a webs.com domain, which many of those can't be viewed AT ALL from a Mobile Device. Last I checked, google chrome, firefox, and IE all worked with it fine, but not sure about Ipads. If you go to a webs.com site, you can't see the thing at all...mine is not like that.  When I view if from mine, it pulls up, but some guys have told me they could not see it on theirs. I don't know if additional plugins are needed, because I am not versed on all the computer techie stuff. All I know, is what I am doing works for me.

When I copy and paste from my site to eros, it says "You have html tags that are not allowed in your text," so I would assume he used that as well? I get that if Flash becomes obsolete like VCRs, that I would not want a web page that can't be viewed at all, but for now...it's all good.

As I just explained, guys taking only 3 min. to view photos from a phone whilst in traffic are NOT the kind of men I care to see, and I have been at this for years. Most of the men who see me take the TIME to view my site from a device that allows them to go through the pages without interruption, and those who can't...so sorry lol. I designed my site for ME, and the men I want to attract...no one else. If I were worried about losing viewers, I might change things up a bit, but I am not. :)

Let us be real here for a minute...there are women with NO website and just a P411 charging over 400 an hour, with tons of stellar reviews. Having a website helps of course, but I would not say it's a need to make money in this business. It certainly helps your image, but for several women, they have never needed it.

Few go to the lengths London does to be exclusive. I just updated my Flash player to view her gallery. So, maybe having to jump through hoops to view a provider's gallery actually means she is playing it like an episode of PBS "Nature" - only the birds that dance exactly right get to fertilize the eggs.

There is a local woman I find a lot more interesting, just reading her posts.

Adobe passed on getting its flash app certified for Android 4.1, and with that the flash app disappeared from the app store. Flash for mobile is not quite defunct, yet, but it does not seem to have any real future.

So, yeah, flash is annoying and it is dying (and I am not an iOs fan). I think Apple is going to be in for a bit of a challenge without Jobs, too - hard to continue to command a premium price with Android nipping at your heels both in terms of capabilities and product design. We will see how well they can continue to innovate when the first post-Jobs generation of products starts to roll out toward the end of 2013.

Android stop supporting flash after jellybean, it seems like all the mobile OSs will no  longer support flash and are converting to HTML5. Now it matter of time till all website and mobile versions of sites switch over.

I've never had a website, so maybe I'm missing something.  As long as a gentleman passes your screening why does it matter if he's using a cell phone at work to look at a girl's website.  Seems pretty smart to me. Less of a chance of getting caught while at work or on a home computer.

Hell, I don't even have a gallery, just a few pictures scattered throughout. *IF* my looks change, the pics will be updated or the changes will be discussed privately, depending on the circumstances. Otherwise, there are plenty of reviews and back channel opportunities if he needs reassurance. My site isn't designed for j/o material. If he wants j/o images, then he needs to book an appointment. ;)

And you are totally right, those that use mobile devices typically don't read anything more than pics, rate & contact info. My site is compatible over all platforms BUT I refuse to make it more mobile (i.e. cell phones) friendly for the reasons you mentioned in your other response. :)

Jail breaking isn't ask cracked up as it used to be. Most people did so they could unlock their device for other gsm carriers. Now factory unlocks are nothing and easy do yourself. If your Carrier doesn't unlock your phone, you can get it done as little as five dollars.

I was being a bit facetious when I said I did on purpose to use Flash, because I really did not know what the hell James used. I just wanted a slide show vs. still shots, because you are right about the stats. I bet your photo page if you have just one, is viewed over and over by the same guys, who never book? My last website had no gallery at all, but one or two pics on every page in the hopes they would actually digest a few key points from each page lol.

I have a friend who can tell the exact person who viewed her site, which is pretty damn cool. I don't really give a shit all that much, but I do know guys sending me 5 word messages and dumb ass questions, usually hit the eros link or email from a phone. Guys who want to really see me know where to find my ass...I mean duh...it's not all that difficult lol.

No one said the guy had to be "at work" or "at home" to view a website...we said FROM a computer like a laptop which most people have 2 or 3 of, plus a tablet or Ipad. I have yet to meet any person with only ONE device. I have an Ipad, A Kindle, a Blackberry, and 2 laptops....of those devices, I can view any site.

Which is the whole point I was trying to make for some of these guys. So, you can't see a gallery..big whoop. As long as you have at least 5 or so big, clear, photos, that's really all most guys need along with reviews to make a decision.
