Just one more reason that freedom loving Americans should stop using twitter.

I saw on Twitter that some providers are getting quite pissed off, as apparently S1ixa (an ad site) is now requiring real ID to place an ad.

My first thought was "Hmmm... isn't this how every guy feels when he is asked for his ID by some unknown provider?" My second was that TER ads are still ID-free for providers.

Of course, it wouldn't play well to respond with that on Twitter, but what say you all?

Should the gals have total anonymity? Should we?

Just like it's our choice.

If they don't want to have to use their real ID then they can use other ad venues out there.

Who are we to tell them what is best for them? We make the decision on what info we will give up and they make it on what they will accept. Sometimes that leads to compatibility and sometimes it doesn't and we move on to someone else. It really is just as simple as that, to me at least.

Relax!!

I merely pointed out what Slixa has done, and the (as I see it) irony of it.

BTW, use of the term "girls" is probably a wee bit derogatory.

What would be wrong with the ladies advertising here on TER, free of charge and ID worries?

My hunch is that it is the feds that are leaning on these sites as part of the new laws enacted to try and halt trafficking, etc.

I'm sure that this info goes right into a govt. database, and I would never give my info to them.

Exactly -- especially when it comes with the risk of being BANNED FOR LIFE from entering/traveling to certain countries as is the risk for providers. It can and has happened to some. But - as providers have to play the game and comply with the sites that are profitable for us in the hope that those sites play it safe . Which is also why major sites moderate ads to the point where you can barely have more that a picture and a phone number - they are so scared to run afoul of the law.

Being on a list from a seized or raided ad site that's as good as accessible to any of of the powers that be vs.  giving your ID to a discreet independent companion really would be comparing apples to oranges.

I can tell you that in 50 % of the cases, giving up privacy isn't the issue. It's availability to Real ID

Roughly 50% of the girls on Eros and Tryst are foreign. They have passports for ID. But not drivers licenses. Brazilians. Colombians. Russians. European beauties. All here to make the American $$$$ and go home where the exchange rate can be as much as 5-1. (Brazilian real for instance).

Eros for instance dies a good job of verification, requiring not just stills, but video of girl and her ID. But if it changes to requiring Real ID, many are out of business.

A hot Brazilian girl can get a 4 month visa, hook up with an agency, and make 75k in those 4 month. Go back home and be good for the rest of the year.

But none of them have Real ID.

Such a requirement will hurt them, and seriously affect the inventory, driving prices higher, which hurts us.

They're doing everything they can to widen their net and drag as many people as possible into that net.

Reference the recent change to reporting of income via electronic payments (Venmo, etc.). Make more than $600 in payments via these means and you're going to be getting a 1099-K. Reportable income, baby...it's all about the taxable and reportable income.
