TER General Board

I am new to TER.  The General Discussion bulletin board is terrific ;-).  I am impressed with the wide range of topics discussed, and the diversity of views/opinions offered.

I have a question of my own that I would like to post.  There are certain providers who include their rates on their ad -- which is great.   However, how would you react when confronted with the following:

i.   You visit the provider, exchange greetings and then you take care of the financial stuff.  The provider checks to ensure things are as agreed.  She then drops a bomb on you stating that her fees are $$$ more.  When you inform her that her ad stated the fee as being X, she states it just went up.  For $$$ we can have a session for half the time or something along those lines.

ii.  You get comfortable, and the provider starts hustling for more $$$.  When you politely protest ... she calmly/firmly states $$$ is JUST an admission fee.  Perks require additional tips.   To me, that’s quite a TURN OFF!

I think, both instances are JUST AS BAD, if NOT WORSE than a hobbyist asking for a break or attempting to negotiate.

What are your thoughts?

In both cases you are dealing with a RIP-OFF. The lady that makes arrangements and then suddenly raises her rates is just as bad as the agency style meeting fee. I neither case, see if you can get your money back and then run out the door. Immediately post to the appropriate board here at TER, so others wil not have the same hassle.

confusion as to fee if she recently raised from $300 to $350, but never from 3 to 6. Always ask before setting the appointment as to the fee, or you can simply ask "are your posted rates accurate?". Do NOT let the provider take control of the encounter and rip you off. Even ripoff artists will back down and return your money if you show that you are not afraid of them. They rely on you being gullible and afraid.

The situation you describe, Black Crowe, is called "upselling."
It is a rip off tactic occasionally encountered, maybe 1/20 in my own experience. Such providers are evil, deceitful, and need to be publicly exposed as frauds. That is why we have reviews.
You should always study reviews in locating providers you want to see. Look here to Provider Reviews above; go to "SEARCH REVIEWS" on TER and on TBD as well. Find the kind of provider you want to see by searching for the characteristics you like, such as dfk, bbj. It is not so good to start with the pictures on Exotics or Eros. IMHE, over one-half of the Eros girls are a waste of money. Exotics harbors much more fraud than that. Some girls change names monthly to stay a step ahead of us. Others use phony pics and actually look like amphibians or goats. That is called "bait & switch." Some are even police officers, called LE.
It is better to search carefully and patiently on TER first. Pictures are the beginning, not the end.
Try searching around in the review area, and adding those you like to your own Favorites List - "ADD TO FAVORITES." Soon you will have 300 vixens with your favorite characteristics. Then you can spend all of your money on them instead of deceitful fraudulent upsellers, or your wife who just lies there eating chocolates and reading Cosmo upside down while humming Christian theme music instead of you.
Soon you will be broke, but happy, with a smile on your face, remembering the last fabulous bbjteoku you had, and saving up for the next. LOL

way to avoid being ripped-off in any way. Even providers are starting to figure out ways to use TER to protect themselves. If a gentleman is kind enough to give her his username, she can check his track record. (I sometimes will give a provider my username instead of my real name - NEVER both). Providers can look up reviews of a provider you give them for reference to verify their legitimacy.

I was ripped-off once, by a provider who took the money and though she did provide full service, she intentionally made comments and behaved in a way to make me uncomfortable so I would leave. Even now, I think if she had just moaned and moved her hips a little she could have finished me off just as fast and had me out the door happy. I'd probably be going back to give her more money for 3 minutes of sex. That's what prompted me to seek out reviews, where I found TER and posted that experience as my first review.

Since then, I always take a beat when meeting a provider for the first time. I try and size up the situation, her attitude and the general vibe before I produce any cash. Lately, I'm only seeing providers with reviews from reputable gentlemen of whom I know.

The truth is that we may get ripped-off by one or more of the various ploys mentioned in this string at one point or another. Sometimes there's no way out of it and we have to make the best of the situation. I always say, don't give them any money. Get the money back if you can and WALK AWAY. There are so many great women out there who deserve our support because they're beautiful, charming, elegant and fuck like wild.

Nothing turns me on like excellent business practices. Well ok, maybe that's an overstatement, but an TER we have the ability to root the rip-offs out and put them out of business, or at least protect others from them.

I'm done,
riker

Time to ask for money back and get up to leave. She ain't gonna give it back... Just leave. Remember, she probably is not working alone and it's cheaper in the long run to just walk. I know of one dude that actually had scumbags like this call the cops on HIM... and the cops slammed HIM! Scumbags like this need to be "outed" as soon as possible with as much info as possible...

So you find an appropriately public and widely known venue and you tell your story complete with link, phone number and details.

This is a classic rip off hustle and why TER (and other similar sites) are so necessary and useful. This kind of information is the most important stuff here, IMO.

Thats total baloney! Most reputable ladies won't do that. I've heard of girls in agencies doing that, but for the most part agencies frown on that also.

Do your homework! The net has a wealth of informational resources to prevent this & other unpleasant surprises. It's a long way from the phonebook & adult newspapers where it's a lottery on who shows up.

Take care, & have fun!!!!

Lisa,

I disagree with your assessment.  There are numerous agencies, as well as independent reputable ladies who are in this line of work strictly for the money.  It's a shame they have no concept of the fee for service financial model.

If you peruse through TER you will discover for yourself that there is merit to what I say.  Recently, I read about a provider in Dallas (Leslie Hill/Lauren) who had a few good reviews posted on the TER board and then played a scam game. She asked folks to pre-pay using paypal --- and guess what?!  Those guys got taken for a ride.  She duped at least 4 odd people who posted similar messages on TER.

This has been an issue of prior discussion -- consistancy in rating.  Some of the reviews state the provider does x - when the reality is that she doesn't.  There are some providers who have friends/family post rave reviews on their behalf.  Thus, creating a buzz about themselves -- but push comes to show, they FAIL to deliver on the promised goods.  If memory serves me right, this was discussed on one of TER's discussion board (a provider got caughthaving a friend/family member posting multiple reports for herself).

Wish there was some quick fire way for certain to weed out the bad from the good.

Of course reputable ladies don't engage in rip-off scams. But there is a vast sea of disreputable providers who engaged in these rip-off's and more. I read one review on TER of a provider who brought her big scary driver with her to an outcall, and actually stole the guys wallet and other things. She took the money and ran without providing any service. She had a couple of previous good reviews.

"Do your homework" is good advice, always, but it isn't a sure thing when reviews are faked, or when a provider simply hasn't shown her true colors yet.

These rip-offs are being done all the time. TER is the best form of protection, but not fool proof.

In our lovely town it is a standard agency practice to charge a  $150 to $200 show up fee. Then if you want anything more from the lady you must negotiate on the spot for what you want by "tipping". Do the agencies tell you that upfront? Nope! Not even. In fact they will tell you anything on the phone including promises of "full service" from girls that don't provide FS for any price.

The only way to find out is to read the reviews from guys who got burned, or take one for the team yourself. I have read of good agencies, but they are the exception.

Stick with the well reviewed independents.

Or I was unclear. I meant that it was baloney that some agencies and indy's try to upsell. I didn't mean that it was baloney that he was upset about it. I think it's rotten when a few bad apples act in a manner that causes problems for the whole.

But I do stand by what I said about there being honest agencies and indy's out there. There are several reputable agencies in chicago that you never see pulling stunts like that. I also believe that there are several reputable ladies in chicago that never, ever try to upsell anyone. The very worst thing you'll ever hear about me is that I'm very exclusive in whom I choose to spend my limited time with. But, you'll never find someone who thought I ripped them off.

I wish you and everyone else only the very best of experiences! Because after all it's all about fun.

thank you riker tell it like it is! I can weigh in on this post
because I seen a provider who had some good reviews and yet she
ripped me off! so the reviews are not fool proof but it is better
than going in blind all of the time. if it were not for the reviews and message board such as ter then it would pretty much
be an open season on us gentlemen. so I say well stated riker

Lisa,

There are honest agencies, and indy all over the US.  The problem is identifying them.

Last year, I was in Chicago during the X-mas season.  I was at the Swiss Hotel, and feeling lonely.  So, I look up the phone book, and web and call what was advertised as Chicago's best.

Made the booking.   I was so sorry I did ;-(.   The provider did not look anything like her picture.  She comes in demands the fee, and gives it to her drive.  This is before I could even tell her politely tell her I wanted to cancel because of bait and switch.

Things got worse.   That was agency fee, she said, I don't make a dime -- I need my fee which is equal to the agency fee.  I told her I did not have it.   She then threw a HUGE, and I mean HUGE hissy fit.  She paged her drive, and in no time he was banging on my door.

To avoid embarassment, and thrown out of the hotel I gave her all I had.  Total damage $ 400 dollars and nothing to show for it.

A friend of mine had a similar experience in Chicago.  Schedules an appointment.  Provider arrives, collects fee and checks in.  She then sits on the sofa of the hotel room.  And sart jabbing for 15 minutes.  Then says do you want to have fun.  The more generous your are the more fun we will have.  Now, for me that is upselling.  Frankly, its baloney!

Well! Lesson learnt ...

and I've done the same before discovering TER, but the strategy needs to be repeated for all of us to learn.
1/ No planning. Jeez, Chicago has a dozen well-reviewed superfine women who do everything in every way. You could have planned ahead or taken a list of names and numbers with you.
2/ "Chicago's Finest" in the advertising. Give me a break. This is America. False advertising is a way of life. Presidents do it. Chief Justices do it. Yellow Page escorts will send you an amphibian swamp creature or a cross-eyed goat as "Chicago's Finest."
3/ Never let a bait & switch past the door. Use the chain lock or other do-hickey. Quietly look through the eyepiece in the door. Practice going to the door in your socks, slowly without breathing. It will save you $400. Or, pretend it's the wrong room if she's the wrong person, that you never made any such call. Tell her to go and that you are calling security.
4/ Always take a laptop with you. It is useful in every business, especially in researching escorts' reviews at the last minute.

& that's what I felt was "baloney". It really irks me when the reputable have to get lumped in with the bad (I guess that must be how car sales men feel... haha). & it's even more annoying to hear about it happening in my backyard.

I would have e-mailed you privately but there was no addy. Next time your up around chicago, send me an e-mail & I'll send you a list of the honest agencies and ladies I know.

I hope the rest of your experiences are better than your expectations!

Lisa :)
