because of Covid-19.
I had never ran into this issue before a couple of days ago. I reached out to a provider visiting my area, the assistant asked if I had references, work screening, etc. I asked if screening with P411 was acceptable and gave my info. The agency then said that my last "Okay" was from November of 2020 (4 months) and that was an old reference, but that I could choose another means of screening by sending a selfie with additional references. I thought this was odd , so to test this theory I reached out to another touring provider and she instantly responded back that she would love to see me, we did meet the next day. Mind you, I have 15 Okays from current providers, and many more that I have deleted for various reasons. Of course I passed on the agency's request, I most certainly wasn't about to send a selfie, and I don't like to bug providers for references, nor do I hobby at the cyclic rate that I used to. Has anyone else ever experienced this?
Most of them have been a year or more though. I haven't seen one mentioning 4 months as old. However it's the lady's choice how far back she accepts them from. Turns out it was no big deal for you anyway. You moved on to someone else who did accept the "old" okay. Now you should have a more current one if you still had any interest in seeing the first Provider.
Not too long ago from your last reference. But every lady does what is comfortable for her.
I will say I have had many clients contact me with very old okays we are talking about 2+ yrs sometimes 5+yrs old and most of the okays are not even providers anymore.
In those cases I do ask those clients for additional info not a selfie but additional screening info.
My thinking was as long as you have 2 to 3 or a good handful then you were good.
If those two (2) to three (3) are from the last year... maybe two years, then I'm sure many providers will work with you. The policy I see most often is if you have 2 P411 "okays" within 6 months of your inquiry then you're "current". Any "okays" older then that may require further screening like actually reaching out to the provider who gave the "okay".
Jayda is correct though; there have been a plethora of individuals reaching out that have "okays" that are 2 to 4+ years old and don't really remember the client if we decide to reach out for a more in-depth reference or the providers are no longer active and cannot be contacted for further context. In those instances, more information may be requested.
Suffice to say, I know it's easy to just send an appointment request from P411. Regardless, if the provider has a website link available on their P411, I strongly recommend visiting their website and reading their screening requirements BEFORE sending the appointment request if you're unsure.

Sounds like you did just fine moving on to another provider who is more flexible.
You might want to name the overly restrictive provider and assistant here, so we all know to be aware and prepared if we decide to contact her.
A P411 Okay from Nov 2020 should be just as acceptable as a provider reference from 4 months ago. That should not be considered to be too old.
yes, I have experienced this (provider/her asst wanted reference within just two months!). In a COVID world, this has become difficult (esp if a recent provider not on p411). If provider insists, then I'd just move on to someone else. Okays within just one year should be satisfactory.

Many independent providers understand that a lot of gents haven't been active due to Covid. And because of that, even I have become flexible in accepting references that are within in the last 12 months vs my preference for 6 months. But, of course -- as with anything in this world -- it will vary per companion. As for agencies? You got me there.
They've been blasting p411 as an unreliable way to screen.
Most of em want real world info now and even provider references are NG.
Its getting harder to remain anonymous while still being a good guy.
I'd put equal blame on the Twitter guys who acquiesce to any demand any unreviewed, unknown quantity, alleged provider makes.
You'd think the recent craziness with Carmen Starr would give these guys pause to consider.

When I started hobbying I would get my okay and would never ask for an update when I saw a lady again. Starting about three years ago I started asking for okay updates every time I saw a lady so I have a few gold stars (five okays from a lady).
I never heard of a 4-month old okay being too old, especially in these covid days.
