Second, if I was a really hot babe, I'd dress and act according to their profile, and then sue the s@#! out of them if they harassed me, or in anyway restricted my freedom of movement. That would be a pretty good chunk of change.

If there were not enough men willing to have sex with underage girls forced into this profession against their will, pipms and traffickers would retire.

If you really want to conduct social experiment, post ad on-line with picture of obviously "barely legal" young girl , make sure she has absent look in her eyes and tight sexy body, mention words "young and tight". "First Timer" and "GFE" and see how many responses you will get.

People who traffic ladies for sex are the lowest form of scum and we need to help the victims of such people. Now if they where going after independent escorts that is a totally different thing, as they are not being victimized. Human trafficking happens in this country and must be stopped. The issue is I think many of the laws on prostitution actually encourages human trafficking as it keeps prostitution in the shadows. I doubt if prostitution was legal there would be as much demand for trafficked ladies.

a training for hobbysts??...if there was no demand there would be no supply. we can slow the trafficking not airlines workers but unfortunately there are many of us who know the girls are under coercion and still buy it.

Police and other annoying government officials continue to try to tie these 2 separate issues as one. They can't get the public to buy into the sex workers is a bad thing so they tie it to human trafficking. I'm sure there is some but my guess would be most human trafficking is for the fields, restaurants and sweat shops. I have nothing to back this up except common sense. Anybody want to take the time to find actual statistics feel free. Although I would question how the data was complied.

Statistics can be found but they are very, very contradictory.  Both sides of the issue lie consistently about the stats and what they do or do not "prove".

There have been some heated discussions on this topic on here in the past year.  Some claim it does not exist, or is very rare.  Others claim it is very common, especially in some subsets of the business.

What I did like about the article is it did seem to emphasize the underaged girls, and it focused less on a lady traveling by herself.  It really would be nice if LE and the press would seperate the two as you say.

Presumably, they have had some success with this strategy, and will continue it.  Analogously, people who oppose free speech for adults have had some success with a "protect the children" approach to government-imposed censorship for everyone.

On the "all sex workers are exploited" issue, a counter to their strategy is of course for sex workers to continue to get involved in educating the public about the truth, and I appaud those women who have done this.

Do providers have RF ID embedded in them these days. Businesses make these grandiose comments and if they actually stop someone, they cant prove and will get sued for millions.

That is why I ended my post with I would question where the data came from. Anyone can do a poll or compile research based on what? I scrutinize all statistics based on where and by whom the data was compiled.

You really think that many hobbiest dally in the "underage" and/or "human trafficking"? I think not. I personally know several hobbiest and have gotten to know more by phone or e-mail. IMHO at least the ones on TER do not!

She is a member of SWOP, among other organizations, and it's very interesting to hear her talk about these issues. She's very passionate about them, and I'm sure would be more than happy to talk with anyone that showed compassion and interests in these matters.

Although they discuss human trafficking, most woman who would be sex workers would be intelligent enough to blend in with they rest of the general population when traveling.  The women that we would most likely patronize would be totally not discernible to the population sample that was alluded to in the article. Think about it the women that we would interact with would dress and talk like any other their counterparts. Henceforth why in the world would they think they would be able to catch a sex worker while she was in transit? You would have better luck having the seminar and training with hotel worker in Dallas were they would stay and ply their trade. That is where they would more than likely be in uniform and even then because they are more likely to be subtle about their actions they would still fly under the radar.

They are just ASKING for a discrimination and/or harassment suit, I swear.

How this even got pushed through to be a fully legal preemptive procedure is beyond me; this clearly can get out of hand very easily. Yes, I get it, they figure the risk of upset is far outweighed by the reward of catching a pimp or slave dealer, especially one with, gods forbid, a child in tow-- but seriously?

I just cannot imagine any of this going well. Their methods of identifying possible suspects, at least the ones the mentioned, as ridiculous! I have known my share of girls with overseers, and when they traveled, the horrible fuck usually tried not to leave out of the same airport as them, let alone the same damn plane! It does seem as though their aim is directed more at those men who would be physically forcing a woman to work (not just mentally), like perhaps a mob girl or a foreign "bride", but still.

I think the training is a great idea and could help save lives of those being forced into sex work.  

I noticed how the article used the term "sex workers" almost implying that sex workers=trafficked humans.  Seems like an attempt to confuse the "average" reader as the term "sex worker" gains popularity.  Please don't intertwine the two or allow the article to trick you.  Please do a small amount of activism by simply clarifying the differences to others while watching news reports together or in discussions of current events.  Education is key to making a change.

Also, remember we don't want to legalize, we want to decriminalize.  This allows workers to remain independent and in control of their schedules, rate structure, etc...

And your right as well most sex workers are not trafficked. I am all for ether decriminalization  of prostitution but not pandering. The abuses seem to happen when someone else besides the lady makes money off of the lady's work. I have given money to SWOP in the past.

Trafficking is a real issue but I think any real solution would have to involve ether decriminalization of prostitution or licensed individual escorts with out a agency or brothel owner. Sex workers need to be able to control over there livelihood and lives not like what we have in Nevada. Not that I am saying all brothel, AMP, and agency owners are bad people that abuse the ladies that work for them, just to many do even in Nevada's legal brothels.

Being a sex worker is a noble profession as long as it is done with honesty and by choice. People who exploit sex workers and trick or force ladies into it are the worse scum out there.

At leased in the article it sounded like they where training mostly to spot real human trafficking victims and not your average sex worker. At lease it did to me.
