I do have a very narrow view of what I consider attractive to me but it has more to do with body type. I can find "my type" in white, black, latina, and asian.

You're fairly young. Late 20s? Early 30s? It is entirely possible that I'm wrong on this but my theory is that the younger a guy is the more conservative and traditional taste in woman he has. It also has to do with the environment and culture he had around him while growing up.

As far as what attracts me...hmm an honest man. I was taught at an early age never to look at the psychical maybe because I was always a chubby kid but I was always attracted to a man's personality. Looks never meant anything to me as I never thought my looks would get me anywhere, always strived on being an amazing person, having a personality that would make people think, "wow that girl honestly cares". I strive on personality and some men have a personality that just captivates you.  

I am white but I prefer Asian and latina women, tho I've been with many women of all different ethnicities. I never really questioned why I was attracted to women outside of my race. Just being attracted to women in general is enough to keep me guessing as to why we like what we like!

When I was a young child I was surrounded by 'brown' kids. Most of whom were Cuban, some were other variations of Mexican or central/south American. A Few black. And, one, my best friend (brown kid, SE Asian, Indian) was my total bestie. His name was Raj.  I thought he was sooooo beautiful. I was 6 yrs old and madly in love.

Way back in the late 70s and early 80s, when I first started going to strip bars, I noticed the following and still see it today.  
Most people seemed to be just the opposite of what you said. They don't want to be with lookalikes of their sisters or cousins. They are used to the people they grew up around, and they find different races exotic, and they are attracted to exotic. Hawaii has a lot of different races, and the majority of the residents are actually made up of a mixture of the different races. Usually, caucasian, Asian and Polynesian mixes. A lot of the "locals" are "hapa" or mixed races. Anyway, what I would observe in the strip clubs, and even out in "civvy" land is that the "locals" and Asian guys would go for the white gals, the white guys would go for the local hapa gals, and the black guys would go for the Asian gals. Was this 100 % true? Of course not, but it definitely seemed like a majority. Like I said it is not scientific but it is an observation I have noticed for many years and it seems to make sense.

OL, it's not my sister I'm attracted to, but someone who has the same features that I see in people that I meet.  Humans have inate attractions to faces, something that is shown in infants at a very early age.
