So Ive recently decided not to encourage my clients to review me. Ive never really been a fan of the idea but it seemed like that is the way to go if you like to work & get calls. Doesnt it seem a little more discreet & safer to not give/recieve public reviews?
All thoughts & opinions are appreciated.

If you are getting good reviews, how is that NOT helping you? Riddle me that.

Yeah some females are uncomfortable with the detail area, but this is part of your job. When guys like me see a website of a female that has no reviews, we go on to the next. No reviews equals TOFTT. Not looking to waste my money on anything but a good time.

You do know that everyone here preaches on only seeing well reviewed providers, right?

Sorry but I get concerned when a provider doesn't want reviews because I begin to ask why, what do I not know.

If you don't want to encourage us guys to review you, then so be it... not at all sure why you'd feel getting reviews would ruin your work, ruin your calls (as you state).

Your first sentence would lead me to believe you have a full roster.  But then it seems your calls slowed up due to lack of new reviews.
There could be some truth to that op.
Unless your current/future reviews are less than stellar, why stop encouraging them if you are seeing a decrease in business?
If you aren't taking them down completely it really doesn't matter.

The men who are seeing you based off your most current reviews will not see it as safer or more discreet to not have them at all

Well honestly Im new. At first I wanted to encourage reviews because thats just how it goes. But Ive thought about it & talked to a couple girls & it seems like reviews might/could lead to more evidence that isnt needed as far as the police go. If Godforbid anything ever happened.

Your calls slowed down because of the lack of reviews. Reviews are the absolute best way to get guys who are going to be into You . They read them get an idea of what to expect and guys who are not into you are going to pass .
This is perfect . I do not advertise AT ALL I get everything threw reviews , back channel recommendations and the remainder are regulars . I would say you need to desensitize yourself from the reviews . Be sure they rock , be the best Bleep* in town give them what they want and let them read all about it .Extra Extra! Read ALL About it! Nothing like fresh news . Kendall Lynn

And they are at the opposite ends of the scale.  If you're a BP girl there are plenty of guys who know nothing about TER and continually TOFTT and risk getting B&S'd or ripped off.  They are too dumb to care.  At the other end of the scale are the high-end UTRs.  They are often represented by agencies and don't need reviews.

I could be wrong, but I don't ever recall of any case being made against a provider, or a client for that matter, based on reviews either on TER or elsewhere.

It's unnecessary as the MO of nearly all LE is to catch you in the act with an undercover officer, and that's all they need.  To introduce the reviews the prosecutor would have to subpoena the records of the reviewing site and enter all that information into the public record.  TER's servers are off shore, so that isn't going to happen.

I can see how some gals don't want reviews because they don't like to be judged, and I can understand that.  If you can do OK without them, then more power to you.  But I have to think that having reviews will lead you to a better class of client, and in that way they make you safer, not less safe.

I think you should reconsider.

since you're new, reviews can only help grow your business.  Remember, this is The Erotic REVIEW. The best way to avoid LE, is to screen all clients. Since you're in the NW you  should know that TER is somewhat weak in that area, check around to find alternative boards.

You need them.  However, you need to get your screening in order.
I don't know about LE and how that works

If you ask 100 men who are regulars in TER about the importance of reviews 99% of your replies will say very important. The content on what they want will vary but I believe that 99% are not willing to take one for the team and risk running into Law Enforcement or a lousy time. Unless someone has a whole lot of money to burn, very few men are willing to spend $300 + on someone with no reviews. Personally, it doesn't matter how attractive a woman is or how tantalizing her website is makes no difference to me unless she has a minimum of 5 recent reviews. Of course, the quality of those reviews are vital as well but any less than 5 stellar reviews I am moving on. Don't get me wrong, I will keep an eye out if she is that attractive to see if she continues to get reviews. If they are quality I may eventually spend time with her.

The bottom line for me is if you are in TER to find a beautiful woman that will rock your world for a short period of time you have a right to be not only smart but careful and seeing someone with little to no reviews do not fall into either category for me. There are far too many beautiful woman out there that have plenty of reviews to take a chance on someone with little to no reviews.

Though I have heard rumors of some states trying to use reviews against a provider in court, I have yet to see a single John testify that he 1. Wrote the review, and 2. That it was accurate. You can't possibly read these things and think they are 100 percent honest or accurate, so that only helps our case. I know many women who make a great living providing without reviews, but they are rare and appeal to a totally different market...one that is not always that easy to tap into.

At first, reviews will help you establish credibility and get you more business, but after a point, you really don't need to KEEP getting them. If you have a new review every 3 months or so, that shows you are active, your services have not gong to shit, and your looks are up to par. You don't need 5 reviews every month to be looked upon as credible. Once I hit 100, I am done with the reviews.

In six years I have never been busted...never even came close, and have always had reviews. Your screening and research of the men you see, should take precedence over the almighty dollar, and that will eliminate (90 percent anyway) the chances of running into trouble.

You said and I quote in a post below, "I am from backpage and there is not a lot of screening going on there." Um, why is that? YOU make the rules on screening, not the guys! YOU should be screening anyone who contacts you and passing if the guy is not willing to provide either references from REVIEWED AND LEGIT PROVIDERS, or personal info. That falls on you, not the hobbyist or the review system. I know plenty of women on Backpage, who screen just like they would on any other site. No screening, no date...end of story.

Also, if you show your face in your ads, that is a bigger problem than a girl who does not show her face, having reviews. Without something to identify you are in fact the girl in the photos, who is to say you did not steal them? It happens all the time. I doubt anyone is going to come to court and say, "Yes, officer I am a married man with a great job, and I paid this provider for sex."

There are many ladies that have no reviews and do very well with great guys who are in fact way less demanding and troublesome than many guys who do review.

those that find their clients one-on-one and in person. That ranges from streetwalkers to women who work bar patrons

High-end UTRs rely on referrals

as many clueless ladies offer and budget minded gentlemen are happy to accept.

This is not a theoretical concern -Google "Desert Divas indictments."

Reviews also are of LE use for investigative purposes, as evidence leading to admissible evidence of the use of the facilities of interstate commerce for purposes of state law prostitution (a federal felony-check out ladies who link reviews to their websites), and theoretically could be used as probable cause evidence for an arrest warrant (hearsay is permitted for arrest warrants). Most of this latter parade of horribles would occur only if a party flips and identifies a lady with her stage name and if LE is after something bigger than a prostitution bust

the "mini's" and general details are good enough for me.

Besides EVERY single provider i see tells me they are exaggerated and describe thing that didnt happen.

sometimes you get a good writer who makes them intersting though.

those who work part-time, have great photos and presentation (website, ad copy), and loyal regulars. May have higher (but not extreme high-end) rates and higher time minimum.  Advertise on Eros, CityVibe, similar venues, maybe even p411.

Lots of TER people won't take the plunge on somebody with a higher-than-average rate without reviews. Plus, the highest percentage of reviews are written about 1-hour (or shorter) incall appointments. Hence higher time minimums (or those whose business model doesn't emphasize convenience) will attract fewer reviewers.

Some clients don't care so much about reviews. They just know that they like what they read,  see, and experience, in terms of presentation (website, well-written copy, engaging emails), and that puts them at ease.

Or, fifth type, those who work in a rural market in which opportunities are limited. Not many TER providers will be available.

They are necessary in getting started I think. Especially if you do not want to continually see a bunch of loser assholes because eventually if you are good you may have enough regulars that YOU  want to see and make what you need to live on. The lady i see regularly-just got back from her place-has lots of awesome reviews which is why I choose her and the fact she sees clients at her house not a hotel (both made me feel safer and more comfortable in giving her all the personal details she required). I asked her recently if she wanted me to review her becuse her last review was over 6 months old but she said no, because she has enough regulars to live off of. She said all the guys she sees are ones that she personally enjoys being with and is friends with many. I have gone to lunch with her several times and will meet her tomorrow for lunch and we occasionnaly talk on the phone. I think if i was an escort this is the position I would strive to be in. Much safer for the woman I think. Although it took her several years to reach this point now she ONLY sees who SHE WANTS to and does not even advertise anywhere anymore. Good luck and I hope this helps.
