what happened was this:
got an email from someone claiming to be a TER member.
I exchanged a few texts, he gave me a ter username and i looked
but couldn't pull it up anywhere.
he said he didn't know why it wasn't pulling up and I stupidly gave him
the benefit of the doubt.
(seriously, we're all fucking stupid sometimes dont act like you're perfect, lol)
he came over, was a clean cut looking guy in his mid 30's looked business professional,
I let him in.
anyone on ter that's had a session with me knows i don't ask upfront,
which i am going to start doing from now on.
NO, i'm not a seasoned pro.
we had the session, he got dressed, then left ONE dollar on the table and left.

because i'm only 100lbs and 5 feet tall and what am i gonna do about it, right?

so... that's what happened. you can parse this story out however you want, and pick at it,
and doubt it, whatever. i dont really care, lol.

though, any members that do know me know i'm not one to tell tales :p

Got to use screening! If he is a TER member, I would figure he would know enough to go through the screening process and be a member of the such. Yes, stupid things happen... so next time don't make the same mistake. Could've been worse my dear. It's not like LE hasn't been a member on here before (hobbyist or provider). Nothing is ever fail safe, but there are things you can do to be as safe as possible. I would also think that this wasn't a one time thing for him, he is probably listed out there for that sort of behavior.

Always get it upfront.

I really have learned though since I began this endeavor at being a provider,
(which honestly was not that long ago)
it IS really kind of a live and learn kind of thing.
you don't really have anyone to train you on exactly what to do,
a lot of us just start it on our own and have to feel our way around.
we come to forums like TER for some way to compare notes,
and maybe pick up a few tips and pointers...

that's why i'm here anyway. plus, nobody in my life knows about what i do,
and it's nice sometimes to be amongst others who know... you know?

but yeah, i do learn from mistakes. getting wiser as i go along...

as far as things i've learned from experience:
-time wasters like endless texts (don't do this.)
-sending photos on request (don't do this either.)
-not getting your money upfront (definitely don't do this. lol.)
-always verify and if you can't then dont see them! (just learned this)

lesson learned.

I am well known in my area but Fuck, I didn't even have reviews until less than a year ago because my stupid, lazy ass didn't pop up a website. Tell me how that makes sense when I've been on TER and the Boards for 5 years...

Best you can do is ask questions and be willing to learn. Can't take things personal on here, you can't tell always if someone is being sarcastic or meant to be funny. Either way it is nice to chat with others that can relate and some have some great advice.

one more thing.

every client is SO different. some are hard to feel out, others are transparent.
it makes every day a different learning experience for every provider.

anyway i just wrote in and requested that my reviews be linked to my profile,
that should help. i haven't been on TER that long, i'm still figuring it out.

Not finding him on ter was a red flag. Do you have any info on him to report him as a deadbeat so other ladies don't get taken? Maybe on a provider board?

As I said in my earlier post, at least it was only money. A lot worse things can happen without proper screening. There are a lot of scum guys out there out to take advantage, even more so on newbie gals.  Having read your follow up posts, now I know more of the story, and glad to hear you are learning more. (also learning how to play on the board too--it can be rough here)

Some of the other ladies are willing to share screening help with new ladies, but usually via back channel (PM and email) as they don't want all the secrets out in public. Think about joining P411 and Date-check to help you screen also.

Follow CPA's advice and read the newbie board and the self help center.

And for future reference if you use TER as a verification site, and someone tells you he is a member, there are easy ways to make him prove it. Simplest way is have him PM you via TER PM. If he is not VIP, then he can't PM you, but there are still ways to prove it. For example you can tell him by email to post something on a specific board, then look for the post. Anyone can tell you they are a TER member and give you a fake handle or give you someone else's handle. Also just being a TER member should not be enough to make you feel comfortable. He should have whitelists or at least a history of reviews.

Once you get your reviews linked you will be able to use the PM system here.

I wish all providers would understand that concept! You said it well! Not all money is good money! That was my first lesson. It sucks this happened to you. There are ways to Prevent it! Screen,reference, general profile of the person entering your incall, and maybe kindly asking to place they're donation in view site, then immediately donate 100% of your attention during there session! I mean my reviews aren't perfect, but I have had a good role thus far!

Agreed. I've been ripped off a few times myself, but I will say that announcing to the board that your screening was lax, and how you never check the donation, is not a good idea.

To the OP...we have all been there at some point, but let this be a lesson that it could have been something worse. Don't EVER take a guy's word he is who he says he is. You need to CALL those refs, and also make sure you have more than some random email or phone number for them, because that can all be bs. Make sure those providers can be checked out, just like you check the guy out. A provider with no reviews and no website, would never be accepted as a reference by me. She is simply not in the position to give a shit if I blast her reputation for getting me busted.

There are slime balls out there.  Probably the other scam to watch for is a client who grabs the donation back.  I HATE the creeps who do crap like this, gives all of us a bad name.  

I feel I have a contract with a lady...  unspoken perhaps...  but I expect her to hold up her side of the bargain.  I will hold her to a high standard.  I expect she will hold ME to a high standard also.  Any woman I am with has a RIGHT to expect that.

Lesson learned.  Going forward, you will adapt how you do things.  You must conduct your business in a way that is not conducive to being ripped off.

Anyone can claim to be a TER member.  IF a member sends you a PM, then you know he is & can check his reviews to see what he's like.  You could PM a previous provider.  

I prefer the more relaxed business handling but I appreciate that IS reserved for repeat clients.  On a first date, I expect to make the donation up front & give her the opportunity to check it or put it away.  You can invite a client to wash up & check it then, if the client does not know enough to give you the opportunity to check it...  & move it if you see fit...  then do so in front of him.  For the immediate future, I suggest you do so so you don't get the reputation...  not only as a good provider...  but as one who is open to scams.
