Who Cares if they do or not? If they recognize it that means they have used it before. If they do not like recognize it then what does it matter? People are not bad interested in what you are browsing as you think they are. Do you look at other people's phones when they are browsing? If so, mind your own Damm business.

...and sometimes I wonder if people glancing at my phone as they stroll down the aisle recognize the site from afar
Sometimes you can't help but glance and see stuff as you walk by. As a guy I would NEVER approach anyone else, but if a woman wanted to stop and say hi, why not? I alway like meeting pretty young ladies.

In an attempt to hide their phones from busy bodies, some people turn their phones away from the aisle and towards the windows ... where it becomes pretty easy to see the screen reflected in the glass. And the remote observer can just as well be looking out through the window taking in the sights of trees or buildings as they whiz by as they can be focused on the reflection looking at whatever you're looking at. I let the circumstances and the crowd (nuns versus hotties) influence my browsing choices and I'm careful about the windows. EDIT: And those windows let the person BEHIND you see what you're browsing, too. You think you've got a big seat back blocking their view, but the 3 inch space between the seat and the big window is all they need to peer over your shoulder, so to speak. Cellphone/Tablet ---> Window ---> Snoop
If you are that concerned about it, then don't do it in public places. Not hostile, just think you need to use common sense.

Why so hostile?

IF they see it and recognize i, chances are they use it too so i'm not embarrassed. If they don't use it, they probably won't recognize so I'm in the clear. Thank god TER doesn't have annoying ads or nudes everywhere.
