I have an email account for communication with escorts.  Recently I have been receiving an intrusion that is disguised as a security warning.  The intruder is driveCleaner.  It shuts down IE7 and is the only window remaining open.  My virus protection blocks it.  I close it.  When I restart IE7 and go to my email there is no second invasion.  DriveCleaner is targeting the email account only.

I know this is pretty much a scam.  Norton Website says this:

"DriveCleaner is a misleading application, which gives exaggerated reports of security and privacy risks on a computer. The program then prompts the user to purchase a registered version of the software in order to remove the reported risks."

My question is, "How does this invader detect the only email account I use for communication with escorts?"

your wife prob. installed it.

Its not just driveCleaner - you also have the Vundo trojan.  Get it cleaned.

deliberately launch trojans with the intent to force you to buy their security software....  I've written my congressman to try to get legislation to force those businesses who practice this to be in violation of "a law!"  don't know how far that will get - but if everyone wrote to their congressman - perhaps we could get attention focused on this very real problem.  Maybe some jail time (with NO computer access) would be good for these dudes...

hackers put up fake escort websites using stolen pics to entice you to contact them... once they have your email addressd they email you more stolen pics and when you download the pics, the trojan installs itself.

dont open any attachments from anyone you dont know and trust ever.

Go ahead and install me and I shall leave you well enough alone and harrass another victim besides yourself.
