How does translate over to modern day society ?

I know it is not legal in the US.

Do you all think we sort of have these type of arrangements/relationships in the hobby ?

that talk about the return of, affluent men in China, having concubines. It seemed too rich for my blood. Most of the men set the women up in their own business and home, separate from his family, home and businesses. Seemed like many steps up from the typical sugar-daddy arrangement.

I sort of like the way the word sounds anyways.

I think it is so only when you are talking about a long term regular client, especially when it has evolved to something more than a series of 1 hr sessions.

In DC I know of a number of concubine relationships very much in that sense.  And no, they are not all Senators, etc.  A man travels to DC regularly, sees a provider, they hit it off well, he starts seeing her regularly.  Out to dinner, Kennedy Center, a business dinner, etc.  Often he is a rich/powerful man who wants to see her often on short notice.  Wants to bring her to another city when he has to travel there.  It may not be an exclusive arrangement but it becomes semi-exclusive.

My ATF used to have that kind of arrangement with such a man.  He bought her a home, he stayed there whenever he was in DC, and she accompanied him to official dinners and outings as if she was his wife.  She met quite a number of others with the same type of arrangement.  I said it sounded like being a mistress--and I still thing that is so--but the facts argue for something even a bit more than that.

I started with this persona.. There were very few that were educated enough to get it.

This is my preferred arrangement and always has been..
