There are many other benefits that would accrue from legal P4P, but lets face it, it ain't a gonna happen anytime soon.  Too much cultural and religious foolishness to contend with.

Some providers have opined to me that they like the fact that the hobby is illegal.  That way they reason the amount of competition is kept down, and they don't care about it being illegal as they are very careful and aren't worried about being arrested.

It seems to me how much easier and fun this hobby would be if they would just legalize this type of fun.  The LE would only have to deal with the girls who rip us off, the ads could say what a provider offers so as to take all the guess work out.  We could talk actual business over the phone as to what you offer and what I would like without having to watch what we say.  The health concerns could be moderated between hobbist and providers.  The only negitive side would be the moral issues between a husband and wife, but for single men like myself, legalize it.  What happens between a man and a woman behind a closed door is there business, not anybody elses.  She is offering a service and we as a hobbist, are purchasing this service.  It would makes things so much easier!!!!

which is a bit different than legalizing.

The connotation of "legalizing" brings with it govenment regulation. The only model for that in the country is the Nevada brothel system. I see that as legalized pimping and exploitation; I don't think that would be a good thing at all.

Go public with your cause under your real name. Fight for it in the arena of public opinion and political change. Spare us your hand wringing and instead try annoying the people who can actually do something about it. I'm too busy banging escorts to be bothered.

Most of the rest of the world has at least some form of legalized prostitution, I travel to at least a half a dozen different countries every year that have legalized prostitution and they manage quite nicely without any onerous regulations, unless someone thinks that health cards are excessive in a business like this.

It would be easier but there are a bunch of low life pimps would want to make a profit of on child prostitution thats why its illegal in the u.s rhode island was the last statewide to make it illegal a couple years ago

Anti-prostitution activists are busy convincing the voting public that all forms of commercial sex are coercive "trafficking", and they have had some success recently with this approach.

Fight back by educating people in whatever way you can.

...they will tend to model new legislature somewhat according to what another state(s)has done, on something like this.  I think it's unlikely that there would be any any research into how other countries do it. That's not a common appoach, whether it is smart or not.

I know someone that was trafficked at the age 16 and her pimp used LE as a treat to control the girls he used. He used the fact t was illegal to isolate his victims. He would beat them then encourage them to go to the police so they can lock up them up for him.

The fact that this is illegal forces it in the shadows. It makes it so victims of trafficking have less recourse without risking jail. Yes, they arrest and imprison victims of trafficking in this county. If the industry was legalized and regulated like every other business there would be less demand for the darker part of prostitution.

Then there is safety issues for those who are here by choice. My wife was raped by a client and left to die in the dessert. She didn't go to the police out of fear she would be the one arrested. I know of anther lady that was also raped and didn't report it for the same reasons. There is a barber hear in Utah that got away with theft of the service of at least 6 ladies and not one reported him as they would be arrested. The shadows attract all kinds of scum.

I will not even go into some of the victimization done by LE itself.

Then there is the things that happen to clients. Robberies that never get reported, black mail, and even drugging have happened to guys that play. None of this happens at legal brothels in Nevada. If something bad happens cops are called and things are dealt with.

Please note I am not calling for Nevada style prostitution. But instead having each lady get a business license with her stage name on it that she would be require to show if asked like any other business. This would also make the women accountable for their actions as her information would be on file should she be operating in a less then honest fashion. Plus it would make t possible to make sure the ladies are getting tested making it safer for all.

I think legalizing and regulating would reduce trafficking and underage prostitution as it would strip demand.  Bootlegging stopped when legal sources alcohol became easily available. Very few wanted illegal and potentially dangerous alcohol when safer legal stuff was obtainable.

Turn on the lights and watch how quickly most of the cockroaches run away. They need the shadows to thrive. Legalizing and regulating prostitution would shine a light on this game and many of the roaches that plague this industry will flee to some other dark corner. Sad some would adapt but there is no way to stop all the bad in any industry. That is a hard truth about life, there is always some that will find a way to victimize others.

Most have not seen the scene outside of this country much nor have they had need study how it works elsewhere as that is not their reality. I have looked at a few other countries even though I never left this one because I love to debate this issue with a state rep friend of mine.

No luck so far in getting his support as he thinks it is political suicide to support legalization in Utah. Sad thing is he is likely right. But he agrees that having it illegal causes more issues the it prevents. That is something I guess.
