I started participating in this lifestyle in 2014 and loved every single moment of it but always felt alone thinking I was the only person doing this. Most of my friends have no idea what I was doing and the ones that did know didn't want to talk about it because they couldn't participate.  

I was starting to feel like I was the only person doing this until this Friday. I was looking at images of a provider on her IG and noticed a former coworker had liked her image. Thought maybe he liked a random image that had hashtags but that was not the case after I investigated his list of people he was following. My coworker is following 12 girls on his regular vanilla life IG account. I started to think back when I worked with him 10 years ago and all of a sudden had many conversations popup where he was joking around with his coworker but he was, in reality, talking about seeing escorts.

Here are some conversations my coworker that travelled a lot had around me while back.

Travelling Coworker 1: I hate going on trips because I get bored.
Travelling Coworker 2: Oh you will find something there is always something happening in the hotels.
Both coworkers: lol

Travelling Coworker 1: I seriously thought I was going to get laid off and made sure to spend every single expense limit using every trick I know.
Travelling Coworker 2: Good job on spending all that money especially figuring out how to spend all that money inside the room while it rained the whole week.
Both coworkers: lol

Travelling Coworker 1: Looks depressed on Monday before leaving for a trip and tells everybody he hates trips but it is the best way to get the job done.
Travelling Coworker 1: High fiving everybody on Friday morning and talking to everybody with a huge smile on his face.
Travelling Coworker 2: Utah trips make me happy all the time especially if everything lines up.
Both coworkers: lol

Can't help but to think that in my circle of 8-9 friends...We all know what we do,It isn't a secret within our world. When we all meet in Vegas for the Super bowl or for whatever it is, we all know what we're doing that night, with who and what time we'll be done so we can meet at the casinos later that evening. Shit, I've even set up many of friend with some of my Amigas while there..so in a word, "I be a pimpin".
But when we're together at weddings,grand kids birthday parties, BBQ's, funerals, we play if off like we're angels. But we'll give a look at each other, give a wicked smile and a wink..But we all know.
Recently a friend past away and at his funeral, we knew the secrets he was taking with him and if those secrets ever got out, some would be buried with him...lol

you should keep your hobbying  to yourself regardless if it's with co-workers, cousins or maybe a brother. So, lets say you and your co-worker,cousins,borther suddenly become enemies? Now they have dirt on you and depending how bad the hatred might be now of each other. You just never know how far they will go of outing you to you're possible wife, g/f or whomever. And, lets say wife.
Another scenario #2.
You accidently leave your phone on table and wife or g/f see's it and gets curious. See's all the texts between you and friend and posible pics. You know some guys like to take pics and of course vids of them in action. lol

Now you're fu*ked!  

Seen it happen already to friends. Just my 2cents keep this lifestyle privately to yourself!

Have to agree with this. It's like the spy biz.  The more connections you have, the more likely you'll get tripped up.

The only friends I have that know about my hobby activities are the ones I have met through the hobby, and its best to keep it that way.  I also never meet in a group of hobby friends.  Its one at a time.  If you both have the same secret life, neither one of you will fuck over the other because each of you know everything about the other.  There's no need to share with anyone else who's not also in this game.  Only bad things can come from it if you do.

Keep your p4p life and your "real" life separate.

One minor addition, for emphasis:

... enemies, even if it is only for one hour, in anger.  Normally, the anger would subside and you'd be back to being best pals again. But if they out you during that moment of anger, you'll likely be enemies forever.

Keep both Hobbyist's/Provider's Life in the Adult industry a Secret (Only Share With Those Who Have Indicated That He Or She Participates In This Industry).  Not every person agrees to what the hobbyists & providers do behind close doors. Plus, for those who have a "REGULAR JOB" outside of this "ADULT INDUSTRY" type of thing; They do not want their "REGULAR JOB" to know.  What I am saying is that at least 50% to 99% of the people out there do not believe that what the Providers do is legal (No Matter How You Spin It).  And I want to direct this towards the Provider & Hobbyists; Only because you got some unsafe people on both sides. Be 100% Safe whether you are staying close or traveling (Listen to your gut (If your gut says that something is not right, Then maybe it isn't).    
  Ladies, make sure you get tested every 6 to 12 months for all sexually transmitted disease. Do not wait for your Primary Doctor to test you (Do it yourself at a LabCorp or a place that does blood disease testing).  Doing a Check on your clients is Excellent, but allow your client do one on you so that he/she feels better (A Meet & Greet should be a requirement for both sides. It makes it so simple and both sides of the fence don't have to worry about feeling uncomfortable & Etc.).  I have done this for up to 26 years & I have to say that putting the Hobbyist at ease should be your #1 priority, but at the same time the hobbyist has to realize that we are risking a little more then they are.  

Whole heartedly agree with need to stay safe.  Just a note that in many metro areas you can obtain STI testing free. Here in LA I regularly get tested at LA LGBT Center (currently their testing program on hold due to Covid19).
Added beny of going to LGBTQ center is they're totally comfortable dealing with providers in a non-judgmental fashion.
