simple question? What does sex mean to you?

I'm reading a book and that is a question in it.
Seems like such a simple question but really when I started thinking about my answer, I kind of had to shake my own skull to get a thought together!
Sex for work verse sex in "real" life is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO different for me.
Sex in civvie life will never ever be the same for me after my last civvie life sex flop after 3 years of bliss.
Sex verses "making love" sex--- SOOOOOOOOOOO different!
but trying to answer the question in a simple answer seems too complex for me!

So maybe hearing some others answers will help me!!!

Difficult to pin down...

For some, sex may be as simple as the meeting of two (or more!) reproductive organs...but to me, sex is a passionate conjoining of minds and bodies, the desire to give and to receive, to please and to be pleased-- a complex mating dance that's ancient but feels new every time

IRL sex = catch, P4P sex = release

Civvie sex for me has always been about the wooing, the obligatory signals, the uncertainty, followed by the happy conclusion :-)  at least for a while, of course...

Sex with the provider does away with all the doubts and is often extremely good. However, let's face it, I am here for the physical release and have no illusions about the relationship.

I have no regrets about the civvie relationships that went south. If given the chance, I would do it again (hopefully better).

Meaning

Back in College a loooong time ago, my girlfriend referred to sex as "making love" or "recreational sex"  Both have their place and are entirely different.  I don't think it can be answered in a simple response as the dynamics of each are so different.  Love both, at different times.

Done right, sex can produce a state of transcendence....

where the sum of the experience goes beyond the sensesd to a point that can be termed religious.

It doesn't matter if it is with a provider or a civie as long as both are really into it.  The crux is to become totally flesh,and not let the mind distract.

I've found some gals where this happens many times, but it is never a given.

If not, then at least it is a pleasant experience.  Nothing to sniff at

The difference is not terribly profound for me.

Hobby sex: aimed at finding that sweet spot where I am satisfying them while also giving the most sincere warmth and reactions I can.  

Civvie sex: Mostly the same except more DATY, BBBJ, yet no 69. lol

Yes, big difference. When I was young and just married, sex was the cement that . . .

held the relationship together while we began a lifelong friendship. Once the children came life got so complicated that she no longer had the interest. Kind of like the Great Salt Lake drying up.

Upon discovery of this P4P world and then eventually have enough supplemental income to be able to partake about once a month, sex became a release and a form of discovery of my inner self.

Thank you to the wonderful ladies who have helped me fulfill my desires for exploring this experience.

Obviously sex from a male point of view (can't speak for the ladies) involves the ego -- since sex is biologically a form of submission (pregnancy is a huge cost for the female and she is choosy in who will impose that cost.)

A man can feel he is king of the jungle, so to speak, when he is having sex.

Which is why cheating sex (especially in the case where the woman is straying) is so hot -- the woman has forsaken another to submit to you!  hot hot hot

Also why, unfortunately, paid for sex doesn't have the same zing.  Civie sex, and cheating sex, have more zing, but have far greater dangers of fallout and consequences.

Sex is just sex, it's primal

I thought I believed in making love, and love itself, at one time.

Now, I'm released of that silly fantasy. Now I understand that there is no such thing as unconditional love with any adult human, everyone has an agenda. I prefer the honest agenda of providers, there's a certain peace in the relationship with a person when you know exactly what their motivations are.

So, in retrospect I guess that I've never made love. But I have been fortunate to have my fair share of sex, and I like it, I like it a lot!!!

In 30+ years of marriage I've come close twice to experiencing that.  Both times as soon as my wife realized, from my moans and things, how much I was enjoying it she stopped what she was doing.  

I didn't know other people actually experienced it.  Now I know what else I'm missing out on.  I'll add this to my bucket list.  :)

Sex is intimate play...

warmth, sharing, caring and doing our best to please one another. I believe that what differentiates any different "kind" of sex (recreational, etc..) is simply the degree of intimacy felt with one another at the time.
AT one end of the spectrum we may have the raw urgency of a quickie with a complete stranger, at the other end we have something more like the transcendant experience MrFisher mentioned.  

It's all about the shared intimacy and desire to please and be pleased.

Sex vs. lovemaking

Sex is when I am with a "cold fish," and then it becomes simply about busting a nut and leaving.  However, any woman who will really "let me in" and make a deep connection with me will experience lovemaking.  The more into a woman I am, the more intense the lovemaking will be.  And I do love most of the women whose beds I share.  Love has been overcomplicated by our society, it doesn't necessarily mean "happily ever after."   Sometimes it just means a vast appreciation for someone who you will only connect with for one moment in time...a moment that neither of you will ever forget.
