Distraction or seductive?

They are often an attraction and help to set the scene.  However, be careful where you drip the wax!!!   OOOOUUUUCCCCHHH!!!

one of my faves like to buy a giant candle like maybe they would use in a cathederal or something, had a large distinct flickering flame that lights the room beautifully. Infinitely better that a hard steady state light, especially those cold fluorescent screw in jobbies that make skin look like roquefort cheese. IMHO good lighting, even if all you use is a couple of orange light bulbs, is a 100% improvement over sexless white light.

I always have some with me, but I never light any until I ask the lady if she likes them. Some people are bothered by the scent.

Personally, I like to see the provider, not be in the dark.  If she is lighting candles, I wonder what she is hiding.  If she thinks I am going to be seduced by the glow or the scent, she has me confused with someone else.  Most candles smell like cheap perfume to me.  I am going to be seduced by her hot body and hot attitude, not by something she bought at the Christmas Tree Shop.  Since I am a very visual person I want to see her - the little hairs at the nape of her neck, her nipples, the unique shape of her pussy, me going into her when we are doing it.  Since I don't do this every day, the visual memory of the session is very important to me.  It's harder to fix and hold this memory if everything is dark and misty.

The post mentioning they want to have enough light to be able to see is correct in my mind also, but the couple times I have seen a provider who had candles, she had enough of them to adequately light the room and the atmosphere was amazing to me.  I found it really heightened the experience with her.  I am not really into the scented candles however.

I have been  using Yankee Candles and just recently noticed they made my eyes red and itchy .so now I will resort to Whole Foods soy candles they are high quality candles like Yankee candles but with out the added chemicals ....candles add a romantic feel but I want all of the attention focused on the two of us  that is why we are together, right ? lol

a motel that has "theme" rooms.... lots of interesting atmosphere in the room.... and a jacuzzi tub....

We lit candles around the room... nice quite glow... plenty of light.... and we made sure that the Jacuzzi had nice bubbles in it... we had drinks to sip... and a lot of room in which to play.... really nice... and of course I did some photography... sexy pics... she looked like a playboy centerfold... very nice....

we did that twice... and then... she disappeared... but the place is still there... and I seek someone else to go there with me!  lol!  really sexy... and it is just not the same with most electric light bulbs... (oh, and there was nothing wrong with the lass's skin... as was proven by the pictures (Flash)

For those that do not like the "Scents"!   I found some "wine" scented candles that come in mini-wine glasses.... they are very mild... and kinda fun to watch....

yea... candles are nice... unless they get out of hand a threaten to burn the room down...

Defintely seductive, but I would suggest using unscented.  Otherwise, the gents may find that their clothing is scented -- possible problem at home??

I just started doing candles because of this particular reason... Boys thinking that I'm trying to hide something and most asking for a "little more light" LOL....  Anyhoo, I now open the door with the lights on (candles already lit so I don't waste time lighting them during the session) and, as soon as we get more comfortable, the lights (and other things) are off...  Candles, music, and... whatever else.  Fun stuff

I always take a candle set as a gift for the lady I am seeing.  While I like to see the lady and watch the action, I think low lights make for a sexier atmosphere.  If it is a daytime appointment a little sunlight is ok, but I don't want to be blinded by the light, whether it is natural or man-made.

Since I have no SO, if my clothes get scented, it is not a big deal, but I can see how it might be a problem for some.  Kind of like going home with her perfume on you, and that is not a good thing for guys with SO's at home.

They can be both seductive and a distraction.... I had a session recently where the candles set a great mood and great lighting. Very passionate. The only part that was distracting was when the hotel pillow started going up in flames. Neither of us noticed until is had ignited and was on fire.

Have NO idea how those alarms didn't sound, doensn't make me too confident about them...lol

makes me wonder what she's smoking.  I like to SEE her, and all her naughty parts!

1) They are romantic and make for great lighting, especially with a fireplace and soft lights near the bed. You can still see one another but it's not blaring bright.

2) Candles are not a fire hazard if you know how to use them. I always have mine sunk deep within a crystal holder or on the walls down in a glass-protective vase. They may burn out (since they're T-lights) but not burn anything else. I'm also careful not to place them directly under a ceiling fan. I also do not burn candles that are not in the same room as me and my partner.

3) Use unscented candles, then you don't get a lot of smoke in the room and no aromas for those that are paranoid about scents (even though they can take a shower afterward). I find Soy candles are wonderful! There's no smoke, they burn cooler and cleaner, and you can use the soy wax to soften your hands (since it's not regular wax).  

I worked at a candle factory and managed one for awhile, so I'm very familiar with candles. I hate smokey candles and those that burn too hot. Sometimes Yankee candles are good, sometimes very bad. You get what you pay for.

Any effort a provider puts into creating a romantic atmosphere is appreciated. I can't imagine how anyone could be distracted by candles. I always use them when I host.

I often take a mild fruit scent to a Fav.  A few candles enhanses the mood.  It's not a spirit reading however.  

YES, safty is an issue.  On the dresser is fine & blow them out when leaving the room.  Some sort of fire proof dish under is a great idea we use at home.

I had one client who mentioned a lady that did not like candles.  

I love them as gifts.  I never have enough of those scented ones like apple cinnamon, berries, vanilla.

I thought I was paying for her to use my dick.

I use candles with civilians.  Can't imagine why it wouldn't work for a provider unless the client needed all light available to see your beauty

Funny story though; I was with a lady here in Atlanta several years ago and we were having a really nice time when I smelled smoke. She had a candle burning on the lower shelf of a bookcase in her bedroom and the flame was attempting to ignite the whole thing! We took a brief break to move the candle and then finished our business. Too funny!

Candles are nice, but getting enough candlelight on the subject would require tapers not tealights, and moreover whole candelabras full of them.  Between the dangers of drippings and fire, hotels understandably hate that idea, and some bridal or jacuzzi suites have very stern warnings posted against candles at all.  

I once encountered a whole battery of battery-powered fake tealights in a hotel in-call.  This lighting scheme was not romantic but merely dim, quite possibly intended to be so; this was at a session with a provider who (though utterly gorgeous) appears to be a trifle eye-shy, always lamentably quick to put bra and panties back on.

I agree that cold flourescent light is to be avoided, but there are alternatives that are not so dim as most attempts at candle-light.  The compact flourescent bulbs increasingly favored by hoteliers can be temporarily exchanged for incandescent color bulbs in "party" red and "bug light" amber.  If scent is desired, a drop of essential oil can be smeared on the outside of the bulb before switching on.  

An even easier and more portable expedient is a couple of pieces of warm-colored chiffon (or other diaphanous fabric) that can be draped over two lamp shades, one on either side of the bed, as color filters.  (For fire safety, avoid placing fabric in direct contact with lamp bulb.) Your local fabric store probably carries a greater variety of colors in chiffon than your local hardware store carries in incandescent bulbs, or if you're really picky you can dye your own.  These cloths can be wadded or folded up smaller than bulbs, and of course there's no danger of breakage.

I was in a Bed Bath and Beyond the other day, and it was bringing a lot of images and feelings in my mind.  I realized that it smelled like a lot of incalls!

my hotel room, I will always have plenty of candles lit to help set the mood.  I also use an i-pod to play soft music.  It is all about the GFE experience.

unless you're trying to make a sequel to "The Towering Inferno."  Actually, I use a few & safe candles, the fireplace and some lights near the bed that have Stained Glass bulbs. They set just the right amount of light and it's beautiful. I also used to do the silk scarf bit over the lamps but that scares me more.
